I believe the wedding garment here refers to our robe of righteousness. We have the robe of righteousness ie God's righteousness in us when we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior. In Matt 22:13 this person without wedding garment will be cast into outer darkess; where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth which I believe is reserved for sinners. So those who do not know Jesus as Lord and Savior will not be qualified to attend the wedding banquet.
