im asking because i have been praying for god to give me a gift that can be used to help people and i fell that his gift is empathy i feel the hurt in peoples life even when they where a mask and sometimes it is overwelming to me like the other day when we had a school assembly. " when i say i fell the hurt im not talking about symathy but i literly fell the hart acke" if you dont know what empathy is find out first befor you try and help me

you truly need treatment, no one is supposed to feel that way, you cant help anyone by becomming as helpless as them.

You've asked a very difficult question.
Empathy as you have described it...is beyond just feeling compassion for another. You actually feel the other persons feelings. People like that have a gift...I agree with that part.
I honestly don't know if that gift is from God or a gift of Spirit, because I don't have a clear understanding of how you interpret that slight difference.
You have the gift and you will put it to very good use in helping others. You will know how, when and where to apply this gift to do the most for others without taking on too much yourself.

Empathy comes from suffering & struggles that are WITHIN your spirititual gifts & as you recieve each gift, it is actually a way of letting you know that you have crossed a bridge to enlightenment & you then continue on until you reach the next crossroad or bridge that will help you to further your understanding of the spiritual gifts. Perhaps you ask for something that you already have with you & you have not been able to see that you have it because you are still waiting for a familiar sign that it has arrived. You are being tested & now you must adapt your old way of thinking to the new you who has been so busy trying to figure this out! You will soon be needed to help out someone else who is hurting as you are & now you have that inside of you & you can move on & share it with others, just as you have done by posting this question! You have a special purpose in this world & you will soon have your answer to even more questions. :o)

I don't know exactly the answer to your question, but I can honestly tell you that I totally understand what you are talking about and I do believe this gift is from God. You might want to read
1 Corinthians 12:1-11 I'm curious, do you personally know the people that you are feeling this for or are they complete strangers? email me.
We also pray that you will be strengthened with all his glorious power so you will have all the endurance and patience you need. May you be filled with joy, always thanking the Father. You have a compassion for hurting people which can come from you naturally or if it has developed as you have prayed to God then God is imparting to you His compassion. This is a way for you to know that God has drawn you into a ministry of counselling or of helps where you can minister to hurting people. It will be useful for you to attend training to recognize and to exercise your spiritual gifts so that you can serve God more fruitfully. Empathy is a form of knowing someone else's feelings and/or
emotions, however it's a progression of actually 'getting to know'
the person, personally to understand them emotionally.
The only close comparison to empathy would have to be of
God's spiritual nature 'compassion'.
Empathy itself is not a gift of the spirit, but compassion is.
"love one another as I have loved you, and be kind to one another". This is compassion.. Caring about others enough to
share or bare their burdens..
