Do you mean Baptizm of desire? The Catholic Church teaches that there can be 3 forms of baptizm. 1,baptizm with water -- while pouring water over the head or immersing a person in water they say I baptize you in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, then 2. baptism by desire --- a person would like to be baptized but, for one reason or another does not have it done but there desire is strong enough that by the time they die they are considered righteous enough that a baptism did indeed take place 3. baptism by blood --- pure and plain martyrdom. They became a martyr for the Kingdom of God.

Big differance!!!!!! The water baptism profits nothing. There is no salvation in it a all. But spirit baptism is the only baptism that is truly real and brings salvation. It is when someone asks the Lord to be their personal Lord and Savior and they are born again at that very second. That is the baptism of the Holy Spirit. It is when somone heard the true gospel or the Word of God being preached to them personally and the word is the water which is spiritual. Jesus is the word and He is the living water. Water baptism is only physical and basically you just get wet. It is just a way to announce to others that they beleive in Jesus. But baptism in water doesn't mean one is a true christian.

John 1: of Jesus by John the Baptist
Meaning that we are submerged in water, symbols that we are giving our sins to be buried with Christ and that we take on a new nature that is after Jesus

The spirit Baptism is referred by Jesus as saying I have a Baptism to be Baptism with of fire.

Acts 2:

Water baptism would be your choice. Spiritual baptism would be the choice of the Deity (or Deities) you follow. Christianity does not have a monopoly on either of these things. It is written water and Spiritual baptism was believed in, in many other cultures long before Christianity came along.

When you accept Jesus as Lord and Savior you are baptized in water in the name of the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit to identify yourself with the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus (Rom 6:3-6) The spiritual baptism you refer to is the baptism of the Holy Spirit where you will receive God's power for witnessing (Acts 1:8) In this latter baptism you receive the ablilty to pray in the Spirit and to operate in God's power. Many Christians find their Christian life powerless because they are not baptized in the Holy Spirit and are poor witnesses for God. It is best to receive all that God has made available for us for all good gifts come from God.
