Anybody who give a Christian answer gets a ton of thumbs down, while any answer that bashes Christians gets a plethura of thumbs up. Why are they so mean and narrowminded? I thought they were supposed to be enlightened and open to new ideas?

February Rain.
1st: Mormons are not Christian. They deny the deity of Jesus (that He wasn't God). And I'm not conviced of the faith of Catholics. Many believe that worshipping Mary and other saints BEFORE they worship Jesus is better.

First of all I am Catholic and I don't worship the Virgin Mary. Where does some of this information come from. It is false. I worship god and I do believe in Jesus. Some people's beliefs go too far when they say that science is wrong as well. I myself am a biologist and believe in evolution. Are you going to give me a thumbs down because of what I believe. In doing so, then you prove my point.

I don't know why you doubt christians would be giving other christians the thumbs down. Christianity is not an united faction. People from a Baptist church may be scornful of the practices of the Pentacostal church, and vice versa. Some christians say that mormons and catholics are not christians. There's a whole lot of room for disagreement.

What makes you believe Atheist are mean. Some Atheist are mean but others are not. Just as some Christians are mean and others are not. I am an Atheist who was once a Christian but I have never been mean either as a Christian or as an Atheist. Atheist are about as narrow minded as you for making such a stupid statement and that's not being mean only being truthful. Kisses Betty

Narrowminded! I think u mixing things up, it is the other way around. We dont believe in your never was God or Allah. For centuries you have fail to give us proof of their existance. There is no difference between timeline events and religion. Mythology has been reshaped and forged into reality.

Everyone is different and it just so happens that you came across some people who are narrowminded. You cant change a person but maybe next time you should speak your mind when they talk like that and let them know your perspective on it. There really is no direct answer for this.

Why do Christians send me death threats for being pagan? Here's the thing. It's not that one group is nastier over another, it's that every group has people who are intolerant in it. So you think you're being picked on by atheists, and in all fairness, some of them are being picked on by you. We ALL get picked on by mean people due to our religious belief or non-belief. We just deal with it and move on. I know that sounds dismissive and I don't mean it to be, but when it really comes down to it, at the end of the day the mean answers don't (or shouldn't) affect your life.

I've seen this with everyone in this forum, not just atheists.

But you should know that one grows weary of being told they are going to hell, if they do this or don't do that.

We are tired of little old ladies sending their entire life savings to a preacher whose only interest is in their pocket books.

We are tired of seeing a nation of people brought completely to the point of dysfunction by a constant diet of guilt and fire and brimstone.

We are tired of religion being not only involved in politics but TAX FREE as well.

We are tired of one group insisting that they have the only answer.

We are just tired of hearing it, all of it, we've made our decision. You need to respect it, if you don't then get used to a back lash when we tell you to MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS.

Peace.

I suppose you should ask the Christians that report abuse on every answer and/or question I post...

The sad thing is, I'm actually one of the more respectful atheists out here. My questions aren't reported because they're offensive. They're reported because they make people think. And that's dangerous for the religious folks.

Funny, as an atheist (although most people don't know it) I am considered a very friendly and open-minded individual by those I work with and interact with on a daily basis.

How about you ask the same question to the "Christian" that left hundreds of pamphlets all over my local post office (paid for by tax dollars, not religious donations) that urged me to repent or go to hell. Also, ask this question to those who consider me stupid and "unenlightened" for accepting that the theory of evolution is plausible.
