read this article about it. It covers what Leviticus said and DIDN'T say about gays. Levitius also said that it's ok to kill someone for working on saturday or for handling a pig skin (any religious people out there like football ??)

It also covers what JESUS said about gays WHICH IS NOTHING!
He never said a thing about it.

This guy talks about the bible and corrects a lot of myths about what is and isn't written.

Great article written by a Baptist minister!!!!

A quote from the article: The suffering that gay and lesbian people have endured at the hands of religion is incalculable, but they can look expectantly to the future for vindication. Scientific facts, after all, are a stubborn thing. Even our religious beliefs must finally yield to them as the church in its battle with Galileo ultimately realized. But for religion, the future might be ominous. Watching the growing conflict between medical science and religion over homosexuality is like watching a train wreck from a distance. You can see it coming for miles and sense the inevitable conclusion, but you're powerless to stop it. The more church leaders dig in their heels, the worse it's likely to be.

The Bible in both the Old and the New Testaments condemn relations between the same sex. In the Old testament it was a stoning offense. Jesus quoted from every book in the Old Testament in His ministry. This validates the Old Testament ban on that sin. The new Testament was giving to us through the prompting of God the Holy Spirit. We either trust what it says or call the whole thing a fraud and then we have no hope beyond the grave... Jim

You are right; Jesus said nothing about homosexuality. He also said nothing about pedophiles. He also said nothing about blowing cigarette smoke in someone else's face. Does that make such actions acceptable then? NO! Concerning homosexuality, the Bible CLEARLY condemns it.1 Cor. 6:9 says that "men who lie with men" will not inherit God's Kingdom? Are you going to ignore that scripture just because it's not a quote from Jesus? The Bible says at 2 Tim. 3:16 that "ALL Scripture is inspired of God"--not just quotes from Jesus. If you are looking for an excuse to do what you wanted to do in the first place, go ahead. But don't think you have God's favor.

My words are not based on religious bigotry. We cannot pick and choose what we want to obey from the Bible. To worship God with "spirit and truth", we must accept the WHOLE Bible, not just parts of it.

...I looked at your newspaper article. I am not impressed by any pro-liberal media - most media types don't believe in God and care little for what He says - somewhere in the neighborhood of 85% - I see no chance of ever coming into agreement with them.
...The entire Bible is God's word to man - and the New Testament contains enough references that it clearly prohibits the homosexual lifestyle (Romans 1:18-32, 1 Corinthians 6, for instance).
...Apart from Scripture, why should the homosexual lifestyle be discouraged? Well, for one thing, the Centers for Disease Control (hardly a right-wing organization) has reported that the average gay male lives to the age of 41 - that's right, 41. (That is considerable lower than 70-80 years for a heterosexual male.) How is this beneficial to that person and society? Why would our society want to promote a descructive lifestyle like this? Why would we want them to adopt children, who would also adopt this unnatural lifestyle choice?
...And most homosexuals do not stay together, but have multiple partners, and this is unhealthy, and means diseases. (Multiple partners, in heterosexuals and homosexuals, promotes STDs). It is a destructive lifestyle, and the human body was just not designed for activity like theirs.
...The Bible prohibits adultery, fornication, and homosexuality - all sinful, lifestyle choices.
...Nothing beats the original design of God, which is one man & one woman, married for life.
...Think of all the life problems you miss out
on by avoiding "alternate" lifestyles of all types.

You are correct the Bible never once says homosexual (St. James) and the reason why is because the word did not exist then. The Bible talks about male prostitution (perverts and child molesters in the same verse) and a man laying next to a man he lies next to a woman. People take this to mean a man having sex with another man, this isnt so what it means is a man marrying a man. Essentially the only thing the Bible prohibits is Gay Marriage.

A lot of church doctrine comes not from what is written as Jesus actual words, but what the other books say. Romans 1:26, 27 condemns homosexuality along with other passages.

Homosexuality is a sexual sin, which any sex outside of the marriage is a sin. Heterosexual sex outside of the marriage is as equal sin as homosexuality. Gossip is also equal sin, gluttony is also. Any sin like this that is deliberate and is ongoing is a sin. Christians do not tell you that gossip, and over eating and other sins are just as bad because it is easier to attack the sin they are not guilty of.

A man and woman who lives together or just having sex is a sin equal to homosexual sex. How many Christians condemn that?

Speeding and red light running that is done deleberatly is just as much a sin.

Well I can tell you unequivocally it's not, there are those that will try and change the meaning and the interpretation of that meaning just to suit them selves that's all that is happening, homosexuality is abomination, and it states that very clearly in the bible so how can religion be wrong. Gays are fighting for their life style, of course they are going to use every trick in the book medically and religiously just to try and convince you that what they do is morally right. Its disgusting and a disgrace to our society in my opinion.

Leviticus 20:13 "'If a man lies with a male, as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

Psa 111:7 The works of his hands are verity and judgment; all his commandments are sure.

8 They stand fast for ever and ever, and are done in truth and uprightness.

9 He sent redemption unto his people: he hath commanded his covenant for ever: holy and reverend is his name.

10 The REVERENCE OF YAHWEH is the beginning of wisdom: a great understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever7 The works of his hands are verity and judgment; all his commandments are sure.
