The Pope is the leader of the Catholic Church
and since the Church started after Christ died
and Abraham was before then he obviously wasn't the first Pope.

IF Peter is the first pope the he is also satan; Mat 16: 18,23. For those that do not know; the title pope is the title of the head of all of the Romish pagan religions. Peter was not a pope nor was he the head or leader of the church. Read Acts and Romans, the disciples each had there own calling to preform, and none were ever recognized as the or a or an leader of the or any church.

Abraham was about 4,000 years before catholicism. He could not have been pope. The pope is not an authority figure here on earth. He is just the head of the catholic church.

First of all, the pope is a catholic thing. No one, absolutely no one else cares. The first pope came along around 600 A.D. after the church was already corrupted by paganism. Peter nor Abraham ever had anything to do with the catholic church or popery. It is a myth taught by the catholic curch to attempt to validate their authority. It is a phony religion, always has been. If the World Wide Church of God can repent and turn towards God, then it is possible for the catholics I suppose. But it remains to be.

Well I'd disagree with the definition of Pope as "authority figure here on earth". He may well be an authority figure but he is, essentially, the leader of the worlds catholic church. You CAN define Pope as "authority figure" but then again you CAN define Pope as "bloke who wears a dress", "top dude in Rome", "the man who is Catholic in the same way that bears **** in the woods".

As this church didn't exist until after Jesus we can discount anybody before that time as the first Pope.

Abraham was the descendant of the Jewish tribe, the first man whom God promised to be the father whose offsprings will be as many as the stars in heaven. The word Pope was created some centuries after Jesus' death. Peter was not even alive anymore, it was a posthomus title given to him because of the writings found from the apostles where Jesus told Peter that he will be the rock where what he will bind on earth will be bound in heaven.

Although there was Christianity, there really was no such thing as the ROMAN Catholic Church until the 4th century, when it was taken over by the Empire. And there really wasn't any such thing as the Pope until the 5th century. There was a Bishop of Rome, but he did not have authority over the other bishops, nor did he claim to. But Emperor Valentinian II gave Bishop Inn0cent of Roem such authoriyt, and Inn0cent I was in actualoty the first Pope. The list of Popes prior to this, from Peter on down, is bogus.

Calling either Peter or Abraham a "pope" is an insult to those men of God, IMO. But as far as the first authority figure here on Earth, I'd say Adam. He walked and talked with God, and passed down God's teachings to his posterity.

Neither Peter or Abraham was a pope. Abraham came before Peter did. They were both servants of God, no one was put on a higher pedestal than the other. Jesus professed to have all authority on earth, other than that no else made such a claim.

The Pope is the Bishop of Rome. What did Abraham have to do with being a Bishop or Rome? Rome wasn't even there when Abrahan walked the earth... Jim
