I would like to know why kreevich thinks the world would be a "better place to live" if I believe what he does (or should I say not believe). I can't figure out why everyone here thinks it's "my way or no way" and so many bash each other for what they believe. Wouldn't the world be awfully boring if we were all the same?

Christians - we are commanded to tell others about Christ and love one another even as Christ loves us. After we do the telling, we have fulfilled what Christ requires of us. He doesn't ask us to beat people over the head with our bible or treat them badly because they do not come to accept Him.

Regardless of what our differences are, we should be able to ask questions and share opinions without so much hatred behind the answers.

Let's not forget, this is the true way to allow others to see Christ in us.

Well, I'm working on a paper and have it up in the background. When I need a break or am just plain old procrastinating I take a look. Religion section is most active and sometimes has interesting comments. I usually answer questions that appeal to atheists so I don't think I am butting in. I do answer others sometimes if I think I have an answer or the person is seriously off base.

I am open minded to the idea of believing if any real evidence in that direction were to appear. I don't hang out on Yahoo answers for that reason though since I think it really unlikely that the proof of God's existence is going to appear on Yahoo answers.

I don't *sing* on this site, any other site, and only rarely anywhere in the real world.

But assuming that you're asking about "signing" on to Yahoo answers, Hmmmm, well it's a big site hence the term "site" rather than "page". If you notice, questions from subsections like "Religion & Spirituality" are rolled up and displayed in the next higher category, making it easy to browse for interesting questions.

Another answer is that some people, reguardless of their belief system, like to stir up trouble at the worst or like to try to have intellegent conversation at the best, with the oppisite side.

That pretty much covers most of the bases, except to mention that people as a whole are curious and like to express their opinions.... of course the people that have no interest in this are probably not using yahoo answers......

Could it be that I enjoy reading religious questions, and responding to them? Maybe I can make someone question THEIR beliefs for once!

Here's a few questions:

a) God - omniscient or does he give us free will? Free will implies that there is a 'free choice' to which the outcome isn't determined. So, how would god know what that is without the determinism?

b) God - omnipotent or incompetent? He created us to worship him, but allowed us the choice to not? Was god restricted some way, or just incompetent?

c) What were Jesus' last words on the cross - "My god, my god", "It is finished", or "Into your hands..."?

---

In conclusion, this question has been asked a bajillion times before. Surely they came up when you typed this question.

1.) It is not just religion, it is also "spirituality."
2.) Other people's beliefs have an impact on my life, especially those people who think their beliefs should change the law.
3.) Mythology is interesting.
4.) People ask questions about and directed to atheists, and I have a right to attempt to address them.

Also, please research questions before asking them. This is asked a bajillion times a day and I'm tired of answering it.

This has been asked before many many times. No I don't hope to find anything to change my mind. I am just curious what other people think and believe.

I'm sure that's what you think. I don't have any illusions that I can convince you otherwise.

But I can't help but wonder why Christians keep asking us atheists questions all of the time, and why they write so many answers to the ones we put to them.

Asked and answered many many many many times. You can look at some of my old answers to this question, or do a search on Y!A to get answers from the many many atheists that visit here.

And no, we are not hoping to find something to bring us to god, the main reason is to make you finally realize there is no god. Religious belief is a meme...a mind virus, and we have the cure. It is called rational thought.

Why not ask how many ex atheists were converted by Yahoo answers?

Atheists are here for the same reason Christians are, to share a point a view.
