I was raised in a very conservative Church of Christ and have just discovered that there are other possibilites (for lack of better words). My parents will disown me if I quit. Which means my boys will lose their grandparents. I don't really agree with everything the COC says but I guess it wouldn't really kill me to go. Should I go for my kids to be able to have a relationship with my parents? Or is that sending them the message to just do what everyone else says?

Since ancient times our concept or image of God has changed. You think it will change again? If yes, then to what?

And in using it, don't you think He would want us to modify our understanding of our relationship to both nature and God?

Let's say you spent your whole life helping charities, never being mean or selfish - basically being Mother Teresa. Except, you live somewhere remote and have never heard of Jesus, whom you supposedly have to accept to get into Heaven. Would you go to Hell because people had failed to spread the word of Jesus, even if it wasn't your fault?

Is God something fabricated from the arrogant minds that actually believe that in this huge never ending universe and our mere insignificant size and intellect that He would actually make us the centre of his universe figuratively speaking...?

Why do some people think that He only see and helps them in particular?

Is the music in your church any different than the music your grandparent listened to? Has anything at all about your religion changed overtime?

To get things out, I'm Christian so yeah. . .anyways

1) A man who does not believe in God, but is honest, modest, nice, and an all around good person who never "sins"

2) A man who sins like there is no tomorrow, but worships Jesus and God and also practices his faith, he also repents on all those sins, but this guy is bad in his actions.

Which one should go to Heaven?

He clearly must be... But we rebel against Him and His rules, or try to mold and shape Him to fit our lives, to justify the way we live. Do you ever wonder why you have recurring issues in life?? I can tell you why.

Do you think that a believer is a better person than an atheist on the basis of faith?
If you think it does, does that apply to a fanatic believer and a family loving atheist?

..to repent? In the gospel of St Mathew (I think) when Jesus hung on the cross, he engaged in dialogue with a thief or common criminal who was there sentenced to die. What did Christ say to him? And does this say that it is never too late, and forgiveness will always be extended to those that truly repent..no matter their crimes upon this earth?

For those who have a mixed belief in Creationism and Evolutionism, in example....

Monkeys did evolve into humans because (for one example) God's time relevance was different and "one day" took ages.

Since most Creationist and Evolutionists seem to believe animals don't have souls, while humans do...

Then either humans don't have souls or animals do have souls, at either end of the spectrum. In a mixed view, though, when would they have received a soul in that evolutionary progress?

Thanks for everyone being so nice while I ask my way out there questions!

Prayer to the Father

Oh, my Father, lend me thine hand
Shine thy love upon me
Look upon me with adoring eyes
Allow me to humbly sit at your feet.

Gracious, Heavenly Father reach into my heart
Fill it with your undying love.
Aid me in my wandering along these shores
Showing me the peace thereof.

Precious, Loving Father, let me approach thy throne
Forgive me, though an erring child
Claim my feeble soul as your own
Bestow upon me thy mercies mild

Dearest Father of Wonders, cast away my tears
Unworthy, I look upon you this day.
The love thou hast shown me knows no bounds.
And yet my fears thou hast carried away.

Holy Lamb of God, Father Above, thank you for loving me so.
Thy peace and understanding flow
Though undeserving, I have received thy love
And shall, as your child, begin to gro

I am a born again Christian and some of what i see here really makes my heart heavy.

Please, I urge you brothers, sisters! Let us stop preaching and start practicing Love. God's will is to Love one another. He wasnt just talking about other Church people!

Non Believers do NOT want to be preached at I have found. So why do we preach at them?? This is not from the spirit of God but from the will of man and the religious system. Can we not show them Christianity practiced? Why just preaching??

What would Jesus think of how we speak to others here? These are God's children, speak in love!

Why do we judge others beliefs? Others lives? Jesus said "you should not judge"

It makes me very weak, brothers!

I beg of you, practice it, dont preach it! See how you feel for one week, if its worse, go back to your old ways! your spirit will awake!

Stay away from questions instigating fights. Let them squabble amongst themselves!

I BEG YOU, this is from my heart!

Love, Davi
