Prayer to the Father
Oh, my Father, lend me thine hand
Shine thy love upon me
Look upon me with adoring eyes
Allow me to humbly sit at your feet.
Gracious, Heavenly Father reach into my heart
Fill it with your undying love.
Aid me in my wandering along these shores
Showing me the peace thereof.
Precious, Loving Father, let me approach thy throne
Forgive me, though an erring child
Claim my feeble soul as your own
Bestow upon me thy mercies mild
Dearest Father of Wonders, cast away my tears
Unworthy, I look upon you this day.
The love thou hast shown me knows no bounds.
And yet my fears thou hast carried away.
Holy Lamb of God, Father Above, thank you for loving me so.
Thy peace and understanding flow
Though undeserving, I have received thy love
And shall, as your child, begin to gro

Beautiful praise to the Father! If you wrote a book of poetry like this I would buy it! Keep writing your poetry. He has given you this talent and it is good you use it to bring Him praise! Like the Bible says, "Let everything that has breath praise the Lord". Don't pay attention to any negative remarks. Just keep writing. I think it was beautiful. That is my honest opinion.

Problems with this: First verse, 3rd line: adoring eyes?? Why would God look upon YOU with adoring eyes?
Second verse, 2nd line: Undying love? I don't think appropriate to say this to God.
Third verse, first line: Loving Father, loving should not be capitalized unless you are trying to give God a new name.
Fourth verse, 1st line: Father of Wonders, by capitalizing Wonders you are giving God a new name.
I'm confused as to the wording of the whole fourth verse, frankly. you are asking God to cast away your tears, but then say later that He has carried away your fears? Why tears if no fears?
Fifth verse: Father Above, capitalized again, giving Him yet another name.
Hope you don't mind the critique. Better you should come up with a thought, and write a poem rather than wandering around trying to make rhymes and thees and thous and shalts. Sorry, hope this was polite enough.

This is not a poem....it is a prayer....(no offense) a generic one at that. (by generic I mean, like all the others.)

Well, the last word is incorrect...and it's a little cheesy.
That's my opinion.
