so basically abraham kidnapps and ties up his son and was ready to kill him because god said so in order to prove that he is faithful. why is this in the bible, im guessing its not the moral qualities either. and if someone heard voices to do something similar would you go out and do it to prove your faithfulness?

Did it never rain before the flood or did the laws of physics change? I know what the scripture in Genesis says, so please don't just quote them and call that proof or explanation. I am simply wondering how this could have occurred the way it is described. The page listed below describes some of the problems in accepting this story just as it is presented. If you are a believer who accepts every word of the Bible literally, please be kind enough to explain why such apparently inexplicable contradictions to reason and logic such as this do not cause you to doubt the sensibility of your beliefs. Thank you!

Trying to preach to other people to convince them to read the Bible or to stop being gay or they'll go to hell. I don't like being hated & so many people hate us because a few are preachers who quote the Bible. I respect everyones beliefs but I just don't want athiests or gays or any other group to hate us for the actions of others who share our beliefs. What do you think?

In Yahoo Answers!

1. 'The fool said there is no God'. Read Psalm 14:1'
2. ' I thank you Father for hiding these things from the wise and revealing these to mere babes', this is according to Jesus himself. Read Matthew 11:25.

Oh, btw, the word prophecy does not always connote prediction. It also connotes teachings.

So, what do you think? Are these prophecies being fulfilled long before Yahoo! Answers existed?

I just want to know using your religious beliefs as a basis if you think pot should or should not be legalized. I personally think it should. Pot used to be used in many rituals as a means to open the third eye. It helps aid in divination, by opening this eye.

If we are all born with sin due to our past misdemeanours, why cant the Christian's take responsibility for all the blood shed by their hands throughout histroy?

If you dont accept past wars etc at the hand of a Christian, then you cant really accept sin. Its not a case of picking one or the other, you have to have both or not at all.
