put a stop to Saladin trying to make all Europe like Iraq or Afganistan. It was the goal to dominate the world, then every woman in the world would have to wear black clothes except at the eyes

IF the USA didn't have homeland security too, then Bin Laden and his beheading-horde would be in charge, He's a very ambitious and wealthy and ruthless and merciless guy, not some impoverished innocent little farmer in a class struggle. He wouldn't feel sorry for Americans.

Not too sure about that. In many cases, the crusades were not even engaged within Europe and were often preludes to land grabs by the European aristocracy. The invading forces from Islamic cultures were also in a struggle for land and eventually took it as far as Spain. But that occurred long after the bloodiest battles within the far Eastern Mediterranean. The precept of religious struggle was essentially secondary to politics in the beginning. Religion was evoked with greater intensity when it became clear that neither side would go easily into the abyss.

Sounds much like more recent times...

Well, it doesn't change History, does it?

Muslims claiming that they extermination of literally hundreds of millions of people in their "jihads" to spread their "Religion", the Truth about Muhammad and the recent wake of atrocities will not change because someone tries to white-wash it.

People who put down the Crusades and generally sing praise to Islam while decrying all others; will not make a difference.

The Truth is out there.

Edit,

This is very strange, but I do think that the books and material we have and the ones that Poki Poki has are totally different!?

This is the second time that he's got in just before me and has something to say that's totally different to the History material that I have read!?

Islam brought Europe out of darkness?

Gave it Science? What libraries and Universities?

Strange that they were so backward then.

The Crusades largely failed, but they trained Europe to fight the onslaught of Islam, which conquered the Byzantine Empire, overran Spain and the Balkans, and yet still tries to overrun Europe. The Americas are Christian; Europe still fights the Crusades.

Yes you are correct. The reason is that its not politically correct to praise the crusades. At the time Islam was taking over Cristian countries in the area and these countries asked the Pope for help. However these were horrible face to face battles where people were slaughtered on both sides all in the name of religion.

PS: isnt it sad that people would rather be politically correct then correct? Well we should all make sure we dont hurt some muslims feelins for the sake of truth.(sike)

They sure did. Islamic forces conquered as far as Spain. The crusades did help push them back some, but it was not until the discovery of the new world and the acquisition of it's natural resources, were the Europeans able to drive them fully from Europe.

No they didn't save Europe. The Moors were in Spain before and after the crusades. In fact no ground was won and held by the crusaders as they were eventually driven out. What the crusades did accomplish was the unification of England, and a lot of looting of the Holy Land.

No. The Crusades were one of the worst possible things to happen in history. Brutal murders carried out by religious zealots.
