Why should I take credit for something Christians did nine hundred years ago? I neither supported it nor committed it. We are responsible for our own faults, not the faults of everyone who claims to be a Christian. The sins committed by Christians throughout history is on their own hands, and since they already died, they've already paid whatever eternal price they deserve. No matter how much bickering we do against them it will neither change history nor alter their salvation or condemnation. I do not deny that bad things have happened in the name of Christianity, and that modern Christians still screw up, but my only concern is my own faults. My only encouragement is for Christians to remember that they are all representations of Christ, and they have no right to continue sinning merely because of grace and redemption.

sadly, true. And I thought I could answer this question by pointing out "Stewie" in "Family Guy"
However, I found a nifty apologetics article you might want to read: http://www.catholiceducation.org/articles/apologetics/ap0116.html
Also, you can't take a historical event out of context. For instance, you can't expect an Medieval man to think like a modern man. In those days, the sword was seriously debated as the weapon of mass destruction in intellectual and religious circles.
Just before the Inquisition, there was a dire persecution of Christians by pagans in that country, where Christian homes were particularly targeted and destroyed simply because they were Christian.

No one wants to accept responsibility for all the bad things they have done...remember they are and were trying to save us from ourselves.
Unfortunately they had to kill many to convert a few. Wonderful thing fear...self preservation...it will make some do anything to live...even lie and pretend to be worshiping one God out in the open while they are secretly worshiping another one they truly believe in behind closed doors.
No matter what, you simply cannot force some to do what is not truly in their hearts. They usually always find a way around it.

What? I am supposed to be responsible for the men who acted "in Gods name", even though what they did was against what God taught? Why, because sin is genetic?
No. I will take responsibility for my sin, not for others who merely claimed to be Christian while acting against God. I accept MY sin, no one elses.

The only sin we are born with is that of Adam and Eve, not everything else. We screwed ourselves back in the day. Christ merely provided the forgiveness for this.

Sin is an avalanche of evil....................... how deadly sin is!
Christians are responsible for their part in this area. All people play their part.

Because most of them don't even know about it all, besides they had nothing to do with it, they just know they love Jesus.
