Recently coming out of a small church, I would love to be in a HUGE one, so I can come and go without too much of an ordeal.

Dont get me wrong, I loved my little church, but in a very small group of any kind, politics can run wild. Its almost as if we were just trying to support each other, but somehow ended up "too involved" in each others life and business.

I would like a BiG church cuz I can go and just be with God, not focusing on other people.

Yes, the tithe money is more I grant you. So therefore you feel part of a church that makes a difference. many large churches dont just support a pastor and the family, contrary to some feelings, they support all kinds of needs all over the earth. One church I went to of over 100 had many, many sponser children, just for example.

Also you really feel the power when thousands of people lift God up in song, applause or prayer! I felt this when visiting John Hagee's 7000 seat church.

Great question, thank you for asking!

The advantage to a churchgoer is that he can get lost in the crowd. That's good because instead of being all about meeting people and being expected to socialize, the experience can be completely religious: just between you and God. In a big group, we are less likely to be put in the spotlight.

Actually I think there are disadvantages, especially the fact that a mega-church is less personal and less likely to be able to meet the needs of individuals.

There are none. It can easily become a danger though, if the church starts to side step from the true mission of the church

Mega church, MANY MANY MANY followers, BIG money rolling in and out, national coverage. Not sure theres much advantage, unless being lost in a crowd and up to public scrutiny is what your looking for.

I think there are very few advantages- it is a lot less personal- too many people going in too many different directions and the pastor and leadership often winds up tickling ears and trying to please everyone, build the church up in numbers and size and less and less truth gets spoken.
