I just want to know using your religious beliefs as a basis if you think pot should or should not be legalized. I personally think it should. Pot used to be used in many rituals as a means to open the third eye. It helps aid in divination, by opening this eye.

Ummm, hmm. ME. I've smoked it for years, and I'm not addicted to it. As well as many people I know. Not a damn one of us is addicted to it. I still think you're full of ****.

I've gone an entire year without smoking it, and didn't have withdrawl symptoms or anything like I did when I went TWO DAYS without smoking a cigarette.

Even if a religion has a direct prohibition against something like pot that is no reason why it should be illegal. The government has no business enforcing the rules of this or that religion. Its responsibility is for the welfare and safety of its citizens. If a religion cannot persuade its members on the strength of its own doctrines then there is little point in having the government enforce its rules. People who obey a rule just because it is the (civil) law are no closer to salvation than people who break that rule. Salvation comes from following the rules voluntarily out of personal conviction and/or faith.
Pot (or any drug) may aid people in attaining a religious state or it may just fool them into thinking that they have experienced something. I personally believe that it is a shortcut and as such should be treated with caution. A real spiritual state ought to be achievable without artificial aids.

I could use one of those rituals right now. I always thought the third eye was located on the end of my penis? Now really, the reason pot isn't legal is because some people have to be stoned all of the time. If people could just learn to blow a few bowls at Christmas time or just before their Thanksgiving dinner it wouldn't get such a bad rap. Back when I experimented I learned that 1.8 grams per week was all I ever cared to use and I didn't cared for that stuff that makes you never leave the house. I did a comprehensive study of weed and decided that out on the street you don't really know what you are getting. The problem isn't weed it is the compulsive user. The kind of person that needs to be addicted to something whether it be pot or alcohol, some people just can't control their consumption. I wouldn't expect pot to be legalized in the sense that it is doing any good. I would say that if anything it is very costly to arrest and convict 20-30 million users in America alone. So I say lets not make a big deal about it and then lets preach control with regard to what we put in our bodies.

Because my religion has not come out with a specific stand on this. I can say based on my opinion it should be legal. Life is all about using our freedoms to make good choices. I don't think smoking pot is a good choice personally but I'm not going to take away that choice for others. The cost of cops chasing pot smokers and throwing them in jail is a huge waste of money. Lets throw that money in education or health care. THOSE are moral things to fight for.
my other 2 cents: The priorities are all mixed up in this country. You have people up in arms that Janet Jackson's boob was shown on t.v. but the same people have no problem with the illegal Iraq war that's killed 100's of thousands of innocent people.
pot smokers, go do your thing. Who freaking cares? Just don't endanger anyone else.

I think pot should no be legal. I was an addict of it for over 12 years before I was saved. During this time I accomplished very little and did not participate in life.
As well, the high wore off in the end and I had to switch to cocaine.
Praise God I am free of all of that now for almost 3 years.
I think it could be used legally in the right context. It is an oil rich plant and a renewable resource, the capacity for oil is enormous. It can be used for people in sever pain nearing death, or as a short term help for undereating.
But to be smoked socially, NO I have had too much expereince to support this and think it is helping my fellow man, as Christians should do.
Great question, thank you

Straight pot should be legalized cause its only the herb of the earth. Now mankind lace it with all kinds of stuff and this what made it become illegal. People just took what was good for mankind and make it bad and the good suffers for the bad.

I have never seen a pot overdose come through the ER. Never!
They should legalize it. Tax it. Use the money for hydrogen fuels and to help the elderly with better health care.

My religious beliefs have nothing to do with me thinking pot should be legalized. In my personal opinion alcohol is more harmful than weed.

i have never found any organic substance that will aid me in divination. i have dound some that make pretty colors and funny lights. (diviners sage) and some that just make live hell the next day (beer)
but never one that helped me with any vision or divination.
however i think that the straight herb should be legal.
street value would go to nothing and the novelty would wear off son enough. i do not think that it has any religious value. but some folks do not think that my religion does not have any value so who am i to say what you do to highten your senses.

You know what..... Pot is an herb, which God made for some reason...And I do NOT believe it is used for what it was intended....... You see, we as humans abuse things..And "Pot" is abused by whom ever smokes it...So My answer is NO Pot should not be legal.... it alters your thinking and your judgement on how you should be...... Do I believe there is another means fro pot, yes, or god would have never made it....... but we humans just haven't figured it out as of yet.........

Pot does no good for the third eye, my aunt is a chakric healer and a cranio-sacral therapist. Pot adicts that she works on have horribly unbalanced chakric systems...
Ha, I happen to be working on a bachelors degree in botany, give me proof that no one has ever been adicted to pot, I have a friend right now who can't quit. You're the one who's bluffing.
Not everyone gets addicted, you can't apply your experiences to everyone else...
