If god is perfect then why did he create the universe? What would be the point? and where did god come from? You cant say he's always has been because then that means he was around for infinate time before the universe and why would he suddenlly decied to create it... and if he's perfect then he would of been perfectly content to do nothing and just exist.

was jesus a latino? Plenty of people have told me so, which i really do not believe. It does not make sense. No one inhabited the Americas until the 1600s. He could not have been a Spaniard because he was the descendant of King David. It does not make sense to me that he was a Latino. I think he was either a Sephardic Jew or a Ashkenazi Jew.

I'm thinking that religion will persist so long as there are poor and uneducated people in this world. (Assuming the religious educated rich people as an exception to the rule). It scares me that countries like N. Korea will set off a nuclear bomb, yet in the same breath, they comfort it's people that their sacred mountain will not be bothered. I know a short answer will not answer this, but maybe as a whole, a lot of good (and bad) ideas may result.

Since others are on the topic. I would love anyone to prove their views against evolution in these topics:
1. Where are all the writings/paintings of man living with dinosaurs?
2. Why are there only writings from a few thousand years ago and not millions or billions of years?
3. There are there new species every year so what makes man exempt from change?
4. How did all the races come to be from Noah's family alone?
5. How do you explain the huminid fossils?
6. How come there are no human bones along with dinosaur bones?
7. How come there are no human bones that date to dinosaur dates?
8. How come Christianity/Judaism just started a few thousand years ago and not millions of years ago?
That's a good start for now....lol

I'm thirteen and I already love to meditate and read books on the psychic world. Some people I know say it's alright, and even good for me. Others are totally against it. What do you think?

Christians, do you think your answers on chat boards like this just end up in cyberspace? Do you feel overwehlmed by the atheists who constantly mock you? Are you thinking, why bother with these boards? Did you know that the Word never comes back void? Did you ever think that God might be using your time answering questions to grow YOUR faith?

If you stand firm Christian, God will use you. Just always remember to speak the truth in love; always seasoned with grace!

Amen?

Recently holidaying in the UK to find there are so many muslims living there, Im not opposed to this, We have many here in Australia, but I dont understand if your heads of your religion speak out and teach that we are an undesireable culture of immoral infidels why are you living here? Recently several clerics have spoken about australian women being at fault if they are raped... I just dont get it it seems we welcome you to our country and you guys spit in our face.

In the uk questions publicly of a similair ilk could result in the westerner being charged with inciting racial/cultural violence why is it ok for you to do it?

Before the christian, jewish, islamic god, their were many different polythiestic god systems... if the CJI god didnt exist then how then could it be the real god?

I recently asked the Muslims in this section what was meant when questions were answered as Jesus (pbuh). I found out that pbuh means "peace be unto him" which is actually quite respectable.

For those of us who are unfamiliar with the Muslim faith, we don't understand that abbreviation. Would you instead be willing to use
Jesus (peace be unto him), instead of the (pbuh). It would help us to understand that your religion is not just the violent extremists that so many Americans erroneously believe.

Why not spell out the pbuh?

Everyday as science progresses and new discoveries are made it seems to undermine everything traditional Christians have believed in. Do you think there will be conflict when Christianity begins to be pushed back and new thoughts about the universe start to become popular?

Why do the majority of Christians act like it is a sin? Does the bible state you will go to hell for it? There is so much proof of evolution that is now common knowledge among world scientists (with the exception of Christian Creationists). So why all the hate towards it?
