While Protestants maintain that we're saved by faith alone, Catholics have always believed that God saves us.

Catholics know that once baptized, or "saved" works DO matter, and they matter in some very important ways.

Catholics believe that Jesus gave power and authority only to the Church he personally founded.

Catholics believe that sacraments are God's most powerful channels of grace, custom tailored by Christ to correspond with every stage of our human existence.

Catholics believe, based on the assurances of Christ and the apostles, that holy communion, due to the God-given authority of the Catholic Church, is the real and substantial body, blood, soul, and divinity of the risen Jesus, alive, glorious, and triumphant.

Catholics believe that Jesus empowers those who make it to heaven, so they can assist him with the ongoing work of saving souls.

Catholics believe in heaven, purgatory, and hell, and they believe it's possible to lose one's salvation if one decides to separate themselves from God by serious sin.

Catholics believe that salvation is by faith and faith alone. Having said that, these words do not mean the same as when a protestants says them. A protestant believes salvation is a free gift from God (grace) and there is nothing we can do to earn that gift in any way, or else it would not be a gift, it would be wages. Catholics believe that salvation comes from faith alone which causes good works to happen in a person's life. This faith and these good works are both necessary for salvation, although all the good works come about because of the faith. Protestants believe in the necessity of good works too, but they do not believe that these good works have any bearing on your salvation other than to verify that your faith is real and living. Recently, there has been a blurring of statements by Catholics and Protestants that make each side appear to say the same thing in an effort toward ecumenism. But, the underlying meaning of the statements is no different than when Martin Luther split from the Catholic church over this very doctrine.

Catholics believe salvation takes faith and works.
Protestants believe salvation only requires faith in Jesus. The subsequent works only validate the faith.

They're for it.

Seriously though, the Catholic Church is excellent at protecting the integrity of the faith. If you want to learn about Catholic doctrine, then pick up a copy of the Catholic catechism.

You can also find it online right on the Vatican website!

God Bless,

P.S. There are also excellent books on Catholic apologetics (defn: reasoned defense of the faith). Peter Kreeft is one quite highly regarded author in this regard. A highly entertaining read is the brilliant G.K. Chesteron, sometimes called "the apostle of common sense".

That salvation is a free gift of God, won for us by the death and resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, that cannot be earned or merited, but which must be accepted. The Bible repeatedly describes the two essential elements of accepting the gift of salvation - faith and good works - and repeatedly tells us that one of the two without the other will not result in salvation.

Nope. right it is the Catholic coaching on justification from all sin, quickly from the Catechism of the Catholic Church (paragraph #1992): Justification has been merited for us by capacity of the enthusiasm of Christ who presented himself on the bypass as a residing sufferer, holy and alluring to God, and whose blood has develop into the device of atonement for the sins of all adult men. See additionally #1994: Justification is the main dazzling artwork of God's love made take place in Christ Jesus and granted by capacity of the Holy Spirit. it incredibly is the opinion of St. Augustine that "the justification of the depraved is a extra robust artwork than the creation of heaven and earth," using fact "heaven and earth will bypass away however the salvation and justification of the decide for . . . won't bypass away."He holds additionally that the justification of sinners surpasses the creation of the angels in justice, in that it bears witness to a extra robust mercy. - - - - For Catholics, "sturdy works" are a reaction to the saving Grace of Christ, an probability to, as Paul wrote, "artwork out our salvation with worry and trembling." they do no longer look to be the capacity to salvation.

Mr. Spock once said "a difference which makes no difference is no difference."

So the bloodshed in Northern Ireland was all about whether good works are needed for salvation or whether they are only proof of the faith that is needed for salvation.

Seems like an irreconcilable gulf, there.

The pope himself can not say to you for certain that he will get into Heaven. nor can any priest tell anyone that their salvation is assured... that they will get into heaven... for a priest to tell any one that their Salvation is assured would , by their law, get him kicked out of the priest hood...There is no certainty of Salvation for an Roman catholic.... this is in direct oposition to the teaching of Jesus The Christ... and for this reason alone, but there are others, The RCs are not of The True Christian Faith.

All who come to God in The Way he proscribes will receive His free gift of Salvation... and know with certainty that their place in Heaven is assured... ASSURED... no maybe about it...These are The ones of The True Christian Faith and are of The Body of The Church of which Jesus The Christ is The head.... only those of The Church will enter Heaven... That is The Truth of Salvation.

ESSENTIAL FOR SALVATION

Only 4 things which are very common and essential in all religions will help in the matters of salvation on the Day of Judgement.

1.Belief in One Alone God.
2.Non-belief in unreal gods and saviours, other than God our Lord.
3.Good deeds according to the Commandments.
4.Belief in the judgement of the Day of Judgement.

Only love with One Alone God will ensure success on the day which will weaken all other than the righteous ones. All others who believe in more than these 4 things will find themselves casted in hell one way or the other.

Since all the sects are sects due to their own concocted beliefs and religious norms therefore one must leave them all and become a true believer of One Alone God Only and must follow the Commandments according to the Commandments of God revealed in all the Holy Books.

PRAISE GOD OUR LORD ONLY

According to the teachings of the Prophets of God, we must:

1.Praise God Only
2.Worship God Only
3.All Honour belongs to God Only
4.Obey God Only
5.Serve God Only

And all of us must have fear of the Day of Judgement because it is the Day of God Our Lord Only and in the presence of God, no one will be saviour or intercessor.
BEWARE PLEASE, all who turn away from all these teachings of the Prophets is totally satanic, never mind who says and who hears.
