Recently holidaying in the UK to find there are so many muslims living there, Im not opposed to this, We have many here in Australia, but I dont understand if your heads of your religion speak out and teach that we are an undesireable culture of immoral infidels why are you living here? Recently several clerics have spoken about australian women being at fault if they are raped... I just dont get it it seems we welcome you to our country and you guys spit in our face.

In the uk questions publicly of a similair ilk could result in the westerner being charged with inciting racial/cultural violence why is it ok for you to do it?

Day sleeper read a newspaper once in a while, the head cleric in wa and i believe nsw have also come out and made similair comments, My question was not aimed at muslims who live in western soceity and are ok with other cultures but those, who live here but think we are immoral, I just dont get why they would move here if they dont agree with the way the majority of the country lives, we as australians could never speak out negitively about their culture and the latest cat and open meat comments are not the first, The backlash would have been far worse for us had we said something as inflamitory about islam, yes there were some headlines but the end result was that the cleric was not stepping down from his position as the other senior clerics deemed he was "again" taken out of context.

let's start here:
you welcome us to YOUR country? this is new. what entitles you to this country. western countries are based on diversity.... and for me that is why they are so beautiful. crime rates and polution are bad but you can travel the world by walking down the street..... as soon as you claim the country as belonging to one and not to another you take away its uniqueness

by the way do you know what it takes for a person to legitimately EARN their citizenship???

moreover, muslim leaders in australia openly expressed their disagreement wiht the leader who made that statement...... this was at the end of all the articles i read on the issue

muslims like myself are converts.... i have many other friends that are as well.... and love america. as do many of my friends who's parents or they themselves immigrate here. my family has had a soldier for every generation for the past 4 generations.....

it's ignorance and intolerant people like you that take away the beauty and diversity of the west.... and create hatred

For me, this question is actually cannot be answered with few answers because the reasons are too many. But Muslims do move to this infidels' countries for few MAIN reasons that I think & know from few readings & chats. Mostly, I think for earning moneys, to get better materialistic life. Some maybe because of wars (like in Palestine or Iraq), some because of married to this Infidels' citizen (that convert to Islam) so they decided to stay there, or many times I can find that there are Muslims that go to these countries just to do preaching because they knew people of these countries dont really have the opportunities to know exactly what is Islam.

That was one cleric and he was asked to resign after being disciplined by those above him. His statement were out of line and he is no longer allowed to give sermons. As for your infidels question, do you really believe everything you hear on TV? In the Quran, it says, during times of peace or when you yourself are not fighting, that a christian is one of the best friends you can find besides a muslim. A lot of the time, this is very true and more so because these days a lot of muslim "friends" cut and run when tough times come.

I lived in Dearborn, Michigan, USA for a couple of years, which has a HUGE middle-eastern population. It is sometimes called "Dearbornistan". Some of what I learned:

1. People from the middle east have nothing in common with each other. In the west, we all think of them as middle-eastern "Arabs" but they are as diverse as, say, Europe or Asia. Never ever confuse a Lebanese with a Saudi, or a person from Yemen with a Persian from Iran. I could spend another 100,000 words telling you the differences, but suffice it to say that you can't generalize at all about them.

2. Like most people, immigrants from the Islamic countries simply want a better life, usually one free of the problems of the old country. 99.9% of those who come to their new country never want to live like they did in the old country ever again. They might have strong feelings about the situation in the old country, but they left it for a reason.

3. The problem usually comes in with their young men. The guys know that their parent's old country rules don't really apply to them, but they don't believe that they have to follow the laws and customs of the new country either. In some ways, it's like the experiences of other immigrant groups, when the USA saw Irish gangs, Italian gangs, Jewish gangs, etc. These young men, under the sway of a militant leaders, are the basis for the Islamic troubles we've seen here in the USA, as well as what you've seen in France and Oz.

Here in the USA, if a religious leader would've made those comments, they would NOT go to jail. There would've been a mass protest, and the press would've dragged them through the mud, but such speech is legal here, protected by our Constitution. We do have freedom of speech, and generally agree that the remedy for bad speech is more free speech.

However, religious leaders that are that extreme usually are kept under secret observation by our FBI, who move in quickly once they do something that is illegal.

iam muslim, although i don't live in aforeign country right now , but i wish some day , every one who live abroad has his own reason to be there , but what i want to make clear that our religion don't forbide us from living , tolerate , and having friends ,and dealing with nonmuslims, and there are so many verses in the quran and qoutes for our prophet (peace be upon him) allowing ), and even if u read his biography , u will see how he was treating non muslims , even his dearest uncle was not nuslim and died as non muslim, and the prophet (pbuh), was so sad for his death(and i've wrote about the human rights before in islam), any way it may be the media , or politician , don't know exactly , that try to make the image of muslims and islam bad(may be to have supporters) , also what some terrorists do made ppl judge the majority of muslims in a bad way .
but be sure of that islam (which is derived from the arabic word peace ).
is really the religion of peace.

ps :islam is the fastest growth religion not because of the babies , in fact that is funny! ,simply because more ppl embrace islam and for ur knowladge 80% of muslims arenot arabs. (i've read this before)they are muslims in allover the world.

good luck.

Although I can't speak for all cases, I do have a Muslim that works for me that is from Egypt.

He came here (the U.S.) because there is no opportunity for him or his family in his homeland of Egypt.

The west may be Nations of Infidels but it looks like it's also the Land of Opportunity.

Not every Muslim is a psychotic hyper-conservative uber-zealot... Some actually see the value of these regions beyond the outdated cries of the die-hard right-winged clerics who happen to get the most press time/volume...

It is a form of infiltration, Did you know that the faster reproducing religion(ie the religion whose people are having the most babies) is Muslim.By a 5-1 margin. Several years from now your children will be in the religious minority and then the muslims will have the power to stop you from having your religious freedoms aided by the secular world.

The answer is simple - lack of empathy. Muslims just cannot see such issues from the other point of view.
There is absolutely nothing wrong is muslims following their own culture but they are simply unable to look at issues from the other point of view.
Hence your case in point - muslims come to Australia for their own benefit & now expect the aussie women to cover up like muslim women - or else they are fair game for muslim men.
Amazing.

Not all Muslims leave their homeland. In fact many Muslims are reverts, that is why there's so many.

You would be surprised how many Muslims are NOT Arab nor Arabic speaking. Another thing I might add, NOT ALL ARABS ARE MUSLIMS.
PS: The word "infidel" is not a nice way to put it.

The world should be dominated by the Muslims for the idea of Allah's kingdom to be established here on earth as well as the Antichrist's. (The fact, is both of them are same). Then would all the prophecies be fulfilled.
