went through the list of questions i've tried to answer and see that only my answer has gotten a thumbs down vote.
while I did do the same thing on a few answers my self. I'm entitled to rate the answers as well as anyone.but to just do that to mine means i've made someone mad for rating their answer as a poor answer.

I'm curious, because I'm starting to conclude for myself that there is no God.
Did you go through moments of feeling guilty over abandoning your belief at that time? Was it a process over time that brought you to this conclusion? And why did you come to your conclusion?

...in Santa without being able to prove Santa does not exist? Do you consider people who arrogantly reject Santa to be misguided fools? Do you pity them for their lapse of rationality and work tirelessly to set them straight? Do you feel you must be exceptionally rational to have discovered this great truth?

Go ahead and explain your point. I might ask a question or two about your answers, so that I may understand.

Many who ask questions or answer them in a way that is so departed from actual scripture meaning. Is it even possible for the unsaved (for lack of a better term) to have insight into scripture. I'm thinking no but do you know of examples.

Science can not explain away God, so how do those who do not believe that God exsist?

At least as far as RELIGION is concerned. The same people who balk at the idea of GOD seem to be the ones who will go out on a limb & risk their money and place their FAITH in the stock market or they will take a LEAP OF FAITH and open a new business with the true belief it will prosper. Why then is it so hard to have faith when it comes to God?

And for those who want to tell me it's because people succeed in business and the stock market, there are also those who fail miserably and end up in poverty. If you start something with no provable end in sight, that implies some degree of faith, right?

What would it hurt to seek God - praying to Him in FAITH - and asking Him to prove Himself to you? What would you have to lose - you are not risking your money or your life? Why are non-believers so scared to do that?

Is this a sensible argument?

Deu 23:2 A bastard shall not enter into the congregation of the LORD; even to his tenth generation shall he not enter into the congregation of the LORD.

Now if we look at the genealogy in Matthew 1

1. 'Judah' has slept with his daughter-in-law 'Tamar' and she gave birth to 'Perez' [Genesis 38]

2. 'Rahab' was a prostitute [Joshua 2:1]

3. Prophet David slept with Bathsheba (Uriah's wife) and she gave birth to 'Solomon' [2 Samuel 11]

4. Ruth is a Moabitess [Ruth 4:5]

People should not be attached to the name and label of their religion. We are seeking truth and happiness, not promotion of a religion because it happens to be "ours."

Although I do not believe in the God of the Bible, I respect the Jews very much. You don't try and gain converts through fear, or threats. Anyway, here are my questions...

How frustrating is it (if at all) to see Christians continually rip verses out of context to try and "prove" the New Testament? And if so, could you please list examples and your rebuttals?

I'm not a Bible scholar but I did read without aid of apologetics because all the contradictions were starting to weigh on me and even the apologetics couldn't agree on everything. Anyway it seemed pretty evident that the OT doesn't teach that the Messiah will be born from a virgin, then come and teach three years, then die, then come back to life, then have a transfiguration and THEN FINALLY the end will come and the Messiah will reign in peace. Wasn't that all suppose to happen at once?

Thanks...

Both Qura'n and Bible reject the theory of inheritence of sins .. and reject the theory that a man can pay back for the sins of others

I'll post verses from both Qura'n and Torah

Qura'n [53:26]
- Or, has he not been informed of what is in the scriptures of Moses?
- And Abraham who fulfilled his engagements.?
- No soul bears the sins of another soul.
- Every human being is responsible for his own works.
- And everyone's works will be shown.
- Then they will be paid fully for such works.
- To your Lord is the final destiny.

-----------------------------

What does the bible say?

Eze 18:20 The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.

2Ch 25:4 But he slew not their children, but [did] as [it is] written in the law in the book of Moses, where the LORD commanded,

Reference the following scenario:

If you are about to get hit by a car and I yell out "Look out dude, that car is gonna hit you!" and you move in the nick of time you are eternally grateful to me for saving your life right? You don't criticize me for "telling you what to do" and I'm willing to bet you're not going to just stand there and say, "That's all right, let it hit me. I don't believe in cars."

Why then do people resent it so much when you try to save their eternal life from certain death and destruction? Doesn't it seem like they would be even MORE grateful?

Atheists reject the existence of all gods.

Christians reject the existence of all gods, save one.

Its not the difference between night and day. More like 99,999 and 100,000.

We should figure out a way together to make it a better forum. Many of us have lost our cool when bombarded with ugliness and hatred. Myself included. Praying for the help is certainly first and foremost, but I'm wondering if we can do more?
