There are billions of non-christian believers on Earth-planet, yet I hardly see them participating in this section. Can you please tell me why? I would like to hear much more about you over here.

We watch TV programs about desecrating burial mounds and digging aztec child mummies from mountains. Why do we allow people to rob these graves ?

I keep wondering how both of them came to be found? Was there a group of people who just stumbled upon each book in different places?

Also, if anyone knows what materials each of them were written on (stone, some type of paper, etc.?), and what materials were used to do the writing of each?

I'm sorry if I sound or appear to be ignorant. I have concentration and memory problems, plus I am easily confused. Thank you in advance. This is something very important for me to start learning about in my older age.

icarus62 just asked a great question about Intelligent Design, and I was intrigued by an answer that 'no one has ever been able to find a single flaw in any of God's creations'.

The answer intrigued me. Let me ask this - do you find the design of the human body to be flawless?

I'm atheist and unbiased on this one.
There was a question prior by a girl referring to Islam only true way . This was because Islam teaches you how to dress , speak, eat, and act socially. To me it sounds like prison.
On the other hand, Christians will state, that Jesus is the only way. There is no way to my father except though me .
I know Christians and Sufi muslims that are great people. They know I'm atheist. We interact fine.I highly respect them as people.
My point is if you state anything is the only way. You don't convert people. You just make them unreceptive to your point of view.Would you agree or disagree.
By the way you interact with people and live your life would be a better conversion tool.

A new survey suggests people are becoming less superstitious about 'unlucky' Friday the 13th.
The poll of 1,000 adults shows other superstitons are also less of a concern nowadays.
Fewer people now freak out when they break a mirror, walk under a ladder or a black cat walks across their path.
Three out of four questioned for a Surrey theme park said they had no intention of staying off work just because of the date.
Peter Ronchetti, Thorpe Park's general manager, said people were not as easily scared as they used to be.
He added: "October this year happens to be one of the freakiest months. Friday the 13th and Halloween fall within two weeks of each other."
But, for people who are nervous about Friday 13th, today is doubly alarming, according to a German professor.
Heinrich Hemme, of the University of Aachen, points out that the digits in the date - 13/10/2006 - also add up to 13.

Suppose, for the sake of argument, that everything in the universe was designed by an intelligent creator. How would we know? Could we pick up a rock and say "Ah yes, this object has characteristic X and property Y and therefore must have been intelligently designed"? How could we establish criteria for identifying that something is intelligently designed if absolutely everything in the universe was intelligently designed, and we had no non-intelligently designed things to compare it to?

My point is: The only reason we can look at a car or a can opener or a 4,000-year-old clay pot and say with confidence that it was intelligently designed is that we can compare it with everything in the natural world which was *not* intelligently designed, and see the difference. The very fact that we can identify things which were intelligently designed (man-made things) means that we have to acknowledge that the natural world was not intelligently designed.

Unless you know different...? :-)

Seems to the logical person that all faiths have a hold on their followers during the life of the human animal by having this incredibly massive threat over them of a good afterlife or a bad afterlife if they dare question the unprovable (and ridiculous).

Why waste a life by being scared of being placed in the wrong part of the afterlife - which wont happen anyway because there is no afterlife (except in the bible/other novel(s) of course. ?????

Sometimes I try to meditate. I am really interested in it, but I cannot concentrate, and empty my mind. However I think if I learned it would help me. I take medication for a few things that I think meditation would help. Racing thoughts being one of them.
Is this possible?
