I'm atheist and unbiased on this one.
There was a question prior by a girl referring to Islam only true way . This was because Islam teaches you how to dress , speak, eat, and act socially. To me it sounds like prison.
On the other hand, Christians will state, that Jesus is the only way. There is no way to my father except though me .
I know Christians and Sufi muslims that are great people. They know I'm atheist. We interact fine.I highly respect them as people.
My point is if you state anything is the only way. You don't convert people. You just make them unreceptive to your point of view.Would you agree or disagree.
By the way you interact with people and live your life would be a better conversion tool.

Hslaw, didn't mean to offend you. My point is certian people with their absolutism do not help out their faith. The way the one girl spoke of Islam it sounded like a prison to me.

agree.
about the teachings of Islam. They are guidelines not orders. Islam has set limitations on every aspect of life and its upto a person to follow them or not. You can't live without rules in this world because there are other people living here too. We have to respect their space and rights, this is where Islam help me in interacting with them. I have never abused any other religion.
Extremism is also not acceptable. I am totally against the extremism by some of the Muslim groups which are giving this peaceful religion a bad name.

I respectfully disagree. I'm a Protestant Christian and I do think Christianity is the true religion but I understand Muslims and other religions claiming that theirs is the truth because there can only be one truth. Two things that contradict can not both be true. I hate when people like Oprah say that all religions are true because if a religion contradicts with another they can't both be true,

I respectfully disagree with your point of view on this one. I would expect anyone who is genuinely sincere in their faith to feel this way, no matter what their faith may be. (while this in no way justifies cramming one's religion down another's throat) I am more offended by those with the "everyone is right" frame of mind. I feel that is these people truly understood and believed what they profess, they could not possibly feel this way. I respect those who are confident in their faith and I believe that it is possible to live together harmoniously, learning from one another without validating each others doctrines.

well Buddhist do not act that way, you are thinking of the more major ones Christianity is for one like that but that's because they believe its the right religion because they don't wanna think it is not then why would they believe it in the first place. Coming from a atheist point of view it seems rude I guess but you just need to stop trying to force atheism on to people with questions like this....from your point of view you don't think that but towards a Christians point of view you are.

I agree with you on this. People should treat other people as human beings not as "christians" "muslims" or anything else. I have friends from all walks of life and am glad to understand their culture and beliefs. I am also a nonbias Atheist.

Ahteism itself is a religion. You need more faith than the Pope to believe there is no God.

Hinduism and Buddhism never claim to be "One True religon"
Hinduism does not condemn non-hindus to hell
Hinduism teaches respects for all faith...it says as all rivers run towards ocean, all faiths finally reach the Truth
Hinduism has no concept of Blasphemy, Infidelty, forcible conversion etc etc
so please keep us out of this mess of Jehad and crusades

I don't understand this either... It really astonishes me.
Most of religious people sound so closed minded to me. They sound so arrogant to me. Why dare they consider that those who don't believe the way they do are on the "wrong path"?
In my view, their behaviour displays how immature is Humankind on Earth-planet.
I am a non-believer, and I feel I am much more broad-minded than them. And much more respectful - whatever it seems.

THEY MAY BE TRUE IF THEY ARE FOLLOWERS OF ISLAM...
WHAT YOU HAVE WRITTEN ABOUT ISLAM IS YOUR OWN SUPERFICIAL UNDERSTANDING ....BEING ATHEIST YOU COULD NOT THINK BEYOND ....DRESS SPEECH...EATING AND SOCIAL LIFE...HERE TOO YOU HAVE MISSED ON SOCIAL BEHAVIOR,,,..SOCIAL BEHAVIOR CALLS FOR POLITE COMMENTS EVEN WHEN YOU DISAGREE,.,,WHAT SOUNDS LIKE A PRISON TO YOU IS IN FACT HEAVEN ON EARTH FOR A TRUE MUSLIM...PLEASE TRY TO COMPREHEND THINGS BEYOND YOUR DAILY REQUIREMENTS ...AND IF YOU HAVE SPARE TIME TRY ONCE AGAIN TO FIND GOD...I AM SURE YOU WILL BE GUIDED ....
