Let me start out by saying that I am well aware that not everyone is like this, to me, at this time in the world, it does seem like the majority are.

I was just wondering, that if Christianity is such a forgiving, peaceful, accepting religion, why so many types of people are looked down on and frowned on.

Homosexuals
Single Parents
People who are not Christian

etc.

I know that they dont believe that homosexuality is right, that it should be a man and a woman, and I am more aware that they frown on single parents, but the fact that they are supposed to be so accepting, but at the same time, to me seem way judgmental and non accepting. I just don't understand it.

I'm 18 and at a time in my life where I'm looking at what I believe. Weather I choce not to believe, or that I decide there is somthing I do. I'm exploring many different religions right now. I was always made to believe that I was Catholic, by my grandmother, aunts and uncles, but very much do not believe

Or made up as an amalgam of pagan religions past?

The pre-Christian God Mithras - called the Son of God and the Light of the World - was born on December 25, died, was buried in a rock tomb, and then resurrected in three days. By the way, December 25 is also the birthday or Osiris, Adonis, and Dionysus. The newborn Krishna was presented with gold, frankincense, and myrrh. Even Christianity's weekly holy day was stolen from the pagans!

Do a google search for "Mithraism" and read for yourself.... question things my friends....

will you be accepting him as lord or do you have the wisdom of the Word of God sealed in your foreheads. Knowing full well that when the true Jesus Christ arrives here on the Earth we all will be changed into our spiritual bodies. If not, you still have time to repent?><>

If I tell someone today that I resurrected someone ppl will ask me to prove that person died, and prove I reseurrected that person. But if I ask a Christian to prove to me that God exists, they will ask me to disprove it? Strange?
Also, most of the proofs Christians have are from the bible. Other religions have proofs in their scriptures which prove their God(s) existed. What make the bible more reliable? Have any Christians on this site done independant research on the origin of the bible, and what used to be written in it and who decided what is to be in the bible?

if we are required only to believe in God and not exactly know or understand what we believe, isnt that following religion blindly, kind of like what extremists do? so then isnt is bad to just believe without questioning? but then that raises another question, is it wrong to question the ways of God?

when it comes to religion, why some insist that they are right and the others are wrong? everybody is claiming that they are right while the others are wrong. what is right for you maybe wrong for the others and vice versa.. why don't we just respect each other? afterall, we are all humans and none of us can prove where all of these things started..

According to the 1 commandment,"you shall have no other gods before me. You shall not make for yourself an idol, whether in the form of anything that is in heaven above, or that is on the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I the LORD your God am a jealous God" would'nt Jesus be a false idol. And why do christians pray to Jesus more than God.

Supposedly nothing on this world or no word in the human language can truly define God. If God is a mystery that can't be described, how are we supposed to understand him and religion?

We all know that we can't prove God exists or doesn't exist, but can you at least acknowledge the possibility for just a bit to answer this question? Many of you say you let your kids make up their own minds what to believe, but your influences are very strong in the lives of your children. You would never intentionally do anything to harm your child. You would give your lives for them. So,how is it that you could take such a gamble on their souls? If hell is a real place of eternal torment,do you really want them to go there?
I know you don't believe in Heaven or hell, but please try for a minute to hypothesize that hell is a real place.Would you really want your children to go there? Is it really worth the gamble just because you can't see God and He isn't scientifically proven? Keep an open mind about this just for this question. What if you are wrong about God's existence? Could you really take that chance with your precious children?

At what age did Jesus find out he was the son of God? Did he sin before that, or when he was baptised by John the baptist, is that when he stopped sinning? There isn't much on his life until he was in his 30's, right? Did he work as a carpenter all those years, or what?

In the movie Dogma, there was a refrence that Jesus took all those years to come to terms that he was the son of God. Did he find out from Mary, or the Angel Michael?

How many years of such belief must pass before it becomes true? If large numbers of people have believed something written in ancient books for thousands of years, does that make it true?

Is that the same standard you use in all aspects of your life?
