According to the 1 commandment,"you shall have no other gods before me. You shall not make for yourself an idol, whether in the form of anything that is in heaven above, or that is on the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I the LORD your God am a jealous God" would'nt Jesus be a false idol. And why do christians pray to Jesus more than God.

VERY VALID Points my friend!!
EXTREMELY SO!!
Churches that worship Christ over GOD are wrong, you are totally right , my friend, totally right, but they are too blind to see that. And most of them don't care and I am going to slammed on here for saying this, but I don't mind because I KNOW I am speaking the truth, and you know what else? The TRUTH hurts!
Most Americans, nay , most Christian religions do tend to forgo the father and concentrate on the son, and yes, this is wrong. But, think, who is the leader of this system of things? It is Satan the Devil who is the one in control of things on the Earth today as we know it. He controls the horrible things we see in the news, in the entertainment, the horrible music, the filthy world of pornography, the child sex industry, the world hunger problems...drugs....crime....you name it, Satan is in control of it all.

So who else would want to draw attention the farthest away from God and especially his name, but Satan? He knows that there is very little time left for him on this earth until the battle of Armeggedon - the battle where Jehovah God and Satan the devil have it out and Satan knows he is going to lose that battle and be locked away for 1000 years and not be allowed to bother mankind for that time, then after that only for a short time loosened and THEN destroyed. So he is MAD and he is roving around the earth like a Hungry Lion , seeking to Devour anyone he can and thus if he can draw as many servants of God away from him, the HAPPIER Satan is!!
So, he pushes religions around the WORLD to put JESUS first and to forget about Jehovah, his father and creator of the entire universe, Sovereign Ruler of all. See, you can SEE Jesus.... but not GOD and that makes things soooo much easier for so many people. People don't like believing in what they can't see. Or do they? They believe in Gravity ... and the wind.... and solar power.... and radiation... and x-rays, but they just can't seem to believe in GOD without proof and they refuse to see the UNIVERSE around them as proof!
So yes- to some people, Jesus Christ is practically an Idol . You see Churches DEDICATED to him and him ALONE, but yet... who sent him ? They quote John 3:16 ALL the time, but never give his father the credit he deserves. A little ( LOT ) hypocritical, isn't it? I see you found that hypocicy as well, my friend. Good question you had posted. I hope i answered it well enough for you.

No, Jesus is not a false idol. Believe it or not, Jesus is an offspring of God - meaning he is a mirror of God. God sent Jesus down to earth to help people, help get people on the right track. God is a fair and just God. It all goes back to Adam and Eve. Adam and Eve were children of God, and they disobeyed God. So, pretty much - Jesus is God! I wouldn't say christians pray to Jesus more than God, because God made Jesus. So, really the praying to Jesus goes straight to God. Let me know if you have any other questions. I'm no pastor and I'm not perfect, but I do believe in God. I love and trust him.

Upon what basis is Jesus a false idol? And you cannot pray to Jesus more than God it's an impossibility due to the fact that Jesus is God. You could in theory pray to God the son more than God the father. However, virtually all Christian prayers I've ever heard and prayed are to God the Father. Most people start it like the Lord's prayer, Our Father in Heaven.....

Jesus is not another God, he is God as the son, Jesus is not an idol, even though some have made images of him which if worshiped are idols. And Christians, do not pray to Christ alone, but pray to God the Father and God the Son, Jesus Christ, in one accord as the two are one and the Holy Spirit is indwelling with in us as a third portion of God. And I do not pray more or less to God or Jesus, I pray to my Heavenly Father, who has given his Son all power. That is how Christ taught us to pray.

Well, according to the bible, Jesus and God are the same being along with the holy spirit. Christians pray to Jesus to forgive sins, but I find that Christians pray and say, "Dear Lord", "Holy Father", things like that. So thats not just praying and saying Jesus or God

I believe that Jesus is God and part of the holy trinity - father, son and holy spirit. If you're really interested, there is a great explaination of Jesus's relationship to God and the honor that God has bestowed to him in the fifth chapter of John's gospel in the Bible. I've copied an exceprt below so other's can get the gist, but I recommend the entire chapter. It's a powerful read.

Hope this helps you...

It is straight forward, do not worship other gods than God.

Holy Spirit/Ghost or a 'him' ?

Re-read John chapters 14, 15, 16 which actually refers to a person (The Comforter and the Holy Spirit/Ghost) according to what Jesus was saying to his disciples and John.

The word 'Pneuma' in Greek means Holy Spirit/Ghost.

Jesus did not speak Greek.

Therefore, the Holy Spirit or Ghost - is - the Comforter, and who is this comforter that achieved the points that Jesus said about him and kept on referring to?

It was Prophet Mohammed peace be upon him. (he is a Holy Prophet and his name means the comforter, the praiser)

Jesus said " Me and my father are One", and render unto Ceasar, that which is Ceasar's, The absolute truth is ..God is. There is nothing else.
Therefore anything that is not eternal is not of God, and what on this earth is eternal ??. So as Jesus said, the way to follow me is to give up everything, meaning everything else is idol worship. Let those who have ears hear. I AM

Jesus is God. They are all in One. The Three (God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit) are all One.

John 1:1-5
In the beginning was the Word, and Word was with God, and Word was God.
The same was in the beginning with God.
All things were make by Him; and without Him was not anything made that was made.
In Him was life; and the life was the light of men.
And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprhended it not.

The Word is Jesus. So now when you substitute Jesus for the Word, you get that ;

In the beginning was Jesus, and Jesus was with God, and Jesus was God. !!!
(He is also God's Son.)

That is a very good question Elliot
It is hard to understand the trinity (even for me) and even harder to explain. The Trinity includes Jesus but are all considered part of God.
I have asked this question before and that was the reply I was given and accepted.
How do you know that they (we) pray more to Jesus. Was that you spying on me? LOL That was a joke hee hee
I honestly hope someone can explain it better than me :)
