if we are required only to believe in God and not exactly know or understand what we believe, isnt that following religion blindly, kind of like what extremists do? so then isnt is bad to just believe without questioning? but then that raises another question, is it wrong to question the ways of God?

If you don't have doubt in your mind then you're stupid. In one of the Holy books, it says that true faith isn't accepting everything, but questioning everything until you're sure that you've got it right.

A true Jew, Christian, Muslims, or just plain believer, is one who constantly argues it over in his or her head and thinks that there is God, that he is omni-everything. All powerful, all knowing, etc.

You're an idiot if you say that people who believe a certain thing
(about how humans came to be or about God, etc.)
are wrong.

You don't know anybody to be wrong, but you believe that God exists.

God said ____. Does that make sense? Hmmmmm. Yeah it does, or not right now it doesn't, but could it?

I mean if somebody flat out believes that God doesn't exist, then yeah, they aren't a believer, but other than that, you can't be sure.

#1 No we are not required to believe in God and not exactly know or understand what we believe.

#2 If we were, then that would be a very good definition of extremisim

#3 it isn't wrong to question the ways of God. By questioning, you can try to reason out the true purpose of everything. Why we are given holy books, etc. All of that only increases your faith.

#4 look it up. You, I'll assume, already believe in God, and believe that He never contradicts Himself (it's impossible), so just look it up, and see that God has told you to question.

Don't forget that whatever book you're reading, you're probably reading a translation.

We are not required to only believe in God and not know a thing about Him. No it's not wrong to question the ways of God. Yes it is bad to believe something blindly. Faith is just a belief. And a belief is your best guess upon the information you have. I found the information out there from the Christian philosophers to be the most compelling.

I believe in God. No one told me it's required. Except for my mom. But I don't believe what she believes. First of all, God gave us free will, as I believe so. If he did, there is absolutely no requirement whatsoever that we are to believe in God. That requirement was created by man and man does stupid things. Second of all, why would you follow a religion you don't know anything about or don't understand? If your parents are a certain religion, and you "follow" that same religion, you're not exactly "following" the religion unless you believe in it for yourself without people telling you what you should believe or what you shouldn't. I have my own beliefs on what my religion, Christianity, expects of me.

People say it's wrong to question God. But I do. It's how we, as people, learn. We ask questions. No one knows everything except for God himself.

So to sum it up, I guess I don't believe in blind faith. It's faith...or no faith.

It is only natural to question. It is not wrong to question only to judge.

Look about you, look at living things, look at the geometry in nature. Be happy you don't need to understand, if faith comes you have it.

Just don't make the mistake of equating the Bible or the Koran with the Deity. That is a form of idolatry. Don't take the opinions of people in the religion business for granted either. Religion and God have very little to do with each other.

I define blind faith rather as following a religion like a book, without really applying spirituality in one's life.
Questioning is good, but if it's for the sake of self-righteousness, for the sake of pride in proving one's religion better than the other, instead of sincerely looking into one's own heart for a true answer, then it's blind faith.

We are not required to believe and not understand or know. How can you believe if you don't understand or know. If you don't know, I would question whether you truly believe. God is not looking for mindless worker drones. It's not wrong to question, I do it all the time. By questioning you come into a fuller understanding. You're of no use to God, your fellow Christians or yourself if you aren't sure of what you believe. You'll just wallow in uncertainty, which isn't what you or God wants.

We have every right to put questions about God and the ancients also did and found wonderful answers. Our fault is we don't read enough to know all those questions and answers. I will give you the name of one book . It is known as "Yoga Vaasishtam"
It may be available with Sivananda asram in Rishikesh India.
If you can read this book and understand it you will become a new man.

God says, no its not wrong to question me, to question is the reason I gave you intelligence. It would be great if more people did the same and stopped trying to get my words to fit their world!, or worse use my words to their own end. I mean anyone can quote the bible but it takes a special person to live it!

Don't you think that a religion based on ignorance is empty? Blind faith is ignorance. Knowledge is power. Truth is knowledge.
