Michaelangelo spent quite a bit of time in a brothel and used the people who worked there as models. In some of his sketches a face is represented several times, that of a young male prostitute. This face was used in several paintings as bot male and female. In one of the sketches the model display an erection.
Michaelangelo was accused with several others of sodomy, but not convicted. Draw your own conclusions.

Well, seeing as a) Michelangelo wasn't alive when Jesus was and b) Michelangelo was gay and tended to pick his models accordingly, the picture was probably modeled by a gay person.

However, if his intent was to draw Jesus, and he drew accordingly, what does it matter?
