when it comes to religion, why some insist that they are right and the others are wrong? everybody is claiming that they are right while the others are wrong. what is right for you maybe wrong for the others and vice versa.. why don't we just respect each other? afterall, we are all humans and none of us can prove where all of these things started..

So we should respect the radical muslim's opinion that Jews and Americans should be exterminated? Sorry, not all opinions are right, not even close. For small things, yes, you can respect others opinions, and should. But I always say don't be so open minded that your brains fall out.

There are no wrong opinions on subjective truths, but there are most certainly incorrect opinions about objective truths. All religions can't possibly be right. Either Jesus was the messiah for the whole world and the Christians are right, or he wasn't and the Jews are right. Either when you die you go to Heaven, Hell, Nirvana, you get reincarnated, you wink out of existence... but under no circumstances can you do all of them. Pluralism is the most logically inconsistent worldview, and in the end your respect for everyone beliefs actually only ends up disrespecting them all, because you never take anybodies beliefs seriousaly, it's just some other thing in the religious stew, it's not something that a person would live and die for.

I agree. Everyone thinks their religion is the right religion. I happen to think it is rude to push your belief in others. I really don't have a religion but if i did i would not push my beliefs onto some1. I know what I am not into. I am not into Wicca but my best friend is into it and I do not judge her. Most the time it is just because people reject what they don't understand. After all who knows what the "right" religion is, to judge anothers opinions. Just nod your head and get on with your daily routine because in the end the only persons opinion who is going to count is your own. You can't change ones mind and their is no use trying.

We need to respect the opinion of others even when it differs from our own. I believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. Others do not. I respect the person, but I don't agree with them. That does not give me the right to say mean and nasty things. We need to learn to disagree and give each other respect. Always, no exceptions, there is no need to talk nasty just because people disagree with you. Agree to disagree.

On some issues there is definitely a right and a wrong. It is right to have your own opinion. It is wrong to try to inflict you opinion on others through the law.

Opinions are neither right nor wrong, but statements of fact can be.

"I believe leprechauns control the weather" is a statement of fact, but not opinion.

"I love leprechauns" is a statement of opinion.

there are certainly wrong opinions, but if I may alter your words a bit, I think people should learn when its proper to respect a *person* even if one doesn't respect their opinions.
too often people are brusque for no good reason (myself included).

If you don't stand for something, you will fall for anything. I don't even know what you believe by your apologetic question. Do you stand for god or against Him?
