According to Joseph Smith, the Book of Mormon is more correct than the Bible (History of the Church, Vol. 4, page 461) and contains the truths of Mormonism. However, if that is true, then why does the Book of Mormon contradict Mormon theology?
This is because the theology of Joseph Smith didn't really start to go off the deep end until after the Book of Mormon was printed. To harmonize their changing theology with their written scripture, the Mormons gradually redefined common Christian words. That is why the definitions of Mormon words are different than those of Christianity.

The Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ. It is a companion to the Bible. It is a record of an ancient people here on the American continents. There are many teachings in this book which add to, but not contradict the teaching from the Holy Bible. To get a better description and understanding of the Book of Mormon, visit mormon.org or lds.org. There is plenty of information on whatever you might want to learn about the Book of Mormon or the LDS faith. By the way, that verse that is being quoted from Revelation is referring to not adding to the book of Revelation itself. There is also a similar verse that Moses wrote in Deuteronomy that basically says the same thing, but that didn't stop anyone from compiling the rest of the Bible. Moses only meant not to add to Deuteronomy.

I think the book of mormon is the tranlation by joseph smith of the golden tablets describing jesus's stay with the native americans or some thing like that, and as for the guy comment about chaning the bible causing revelations to happen, the bible has been changed so many times. It is said by bible scholars that there are more descrpenacies in the new testement then there are words in it,

It is just what it says on the front cover "Another Testament of Jesus Christ". It goes hand in hand with the bible, there are no contradictions as some might say...whom probably have never even read it but just listened to what others mis-quote about it. The ancient history was given to Joseph Smith to translate through the power of God. It was never re-written, changed other than grammatically and stands as a witness that Jesus is the Christ.
It is a wonderful, uplifting compilation of people who lived in america during the same time period as the bible. I strongly believe that any person who prayerfully reads it and lives by its teachings can become closer to the Lord than any other way!

I challenge you to read it. You can receive a free copy of it from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, or contact me and I can get you a free copy...

The book or Mormon is a cult book. The Holy Bible is all of God's Word, and it is all you need. A cult is any group which teaches doctrines or beliefs that deviate from the biblical message of the Christian faith. It is very important that we recognize cults and avoid any involvement with them. Cults often teach some Christian truth mixed with error, which may be difficult to detect. There are some features common to most cults:
They do not adhere solely to the sixty-six books of the Bible as the inspired Word of God. They add their "special revelations" to the Bible as equally authoritative.

They do not accept that our relationship to Jesus Christ is a reality "by grace through faith" alone, but practice instead a salvation by works.

They do not give Jesus Christ, the divine Son of God, full recognition as the second Person of the Trinity, composed of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Some of these groups are Jehovah's Witnesses, Mormons, the Unification Church, Unitarians, Spiritists, Scientologists, and others.

no, it's not a translation or adaption of the bible, it's a book the founder of the Mormons religion supposedly "found" in a cave somewhere in the US. Their theory is that Jesus skipped over the atlantic to hide to book there for the Mormons to find.

They must conveniently disregard these verses in the bible:

Gal. 1:6-9
I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel, which is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ. But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed.
