Hello!! :o) Oddly enough - those who I have known to be 'violently' opposed to Jesus [although 'violent' might be a bit of an exaggeration] are the same people who will tell you that Jesus didn't [and doesn't] exist. I think practically everyone who hates Jesus - doesn't actually hate Jesus. They have been hurt [and sometimes horribly so] by a PERSON who SAYS that THEY believe in Jesus. How can someone hate someone they have never met?! [Spiritually or otherwise] There are going to be an awful lot of self-proclaimed followers of Christ who are going to have a LOT of explaining to do. The Bible warns us that there will be many who are rejected by God because God never knew them. Sure - they may have USED God's name - to their advantage - but a follower of God doesn't USE God OR His Name. They allow God to USE THEM!! And that's a BIG difference. One of the biggest stumbling blocks to MY faith in God [and Jesus] has been those who say they also believe. Have a great day!! Craig!! :o)

My best friend was beaten into a coma a few years ago by a bunch of Born-agains who were mad because he kept telling them he wasn't interested. He came out of it in a couple of days, his bruises healed and his bones mended. When they went to court, the group was let go on a technicality, and they praised Jesus for it.
I don't know about your friend, but I have to watch mine to make sure that he doesn't go Christian bashing. He once told me that on the day of the second coming, he was going to make Jesus know just how it felt to be beaten into a coma. It's a scary thing to see.
I'm willing to bet that you're friend has been insulted or hurt in some way that makes him unhappy with Jesus. At least I'm able to just say he was a man and leave it at that.

THE WORLD WILL HATE YOU FOR HIS NAME'S SAKE!!!
AS THEY HATED HIM.
The thing is even the devil knows of Jesus and his existence. Be sure you are doing something with that knowledge.
Nobody who has a light hides it under a bowl but holds it up high so that others who are in the dark may see it find their way.
Paul was a hater of Christians to the point where he violently went after them and had them killed. Yet God changed his heart and he became one of the most influecial writers of God's word.

I dont think there is anything wrong with Jesus. I do however think that the bible has nothing whatsoever to do with him.
look at how the bible makes our loving god seem like an evil tyrant. look at how christians are so eager to point their fingers and ridicule because of what they havereadin the bible....that is man written...Jesus is not like that, thats where i have my problem....leave god out of this, hes an innocent bystander.

Jesus was the perfect human. Who for a time gave up his heavenly realm to come to earth to suffer and die for the sins of the human race. Now He sits at the right hand of the Father in heaven and one day every knee shall bow before HIM.

Perhaps you should investigate why you believe in Jesus yourself and if there is any real evidence for you to hold that belief or if it is all based on a fictional character after all.

This is about belief. Belief in the [Christian] bible. It is not about opinion. Simply put: You believe and your acquaintance doesn't.
If you are interested in dealing with non belief, do a word study of belief, believe, believer and non belief in the Gospel of John, and you will find out how Jesus dealt with non belief

Jesus had problems with a lot of people in His day when He walked on earth. Why should it be any different today.

People who fear Jesus ,....are possibly blinded and are not chosen to be part of the bride of Christ..... another possibly is that they do not feel worthy and fear trying to reach that worthiness, even though it is given freely,.....and the last possibility is that darkness is scared of light because it shines so brightly that you cannot hide all the ugliness and dishonesty when it is shone so brightly.
Jesus is the gateway to the Father's kingdom.
God bless!
