Actually, what you suggest is antithetical to the nature of religion. And its not just the name and label of a religion people are attached to, its the ideas of it as well.
A religion that accepts the validity of other religions and refuses to define itself isn't really a religion. Its just vague spirituality.
Of course, vague spirituality may in fact be healthier and more sensible than a true religion.

Everyone should stop and realize that there is a Name that is higher than any other, a Name that all heaven recognizes as the one wherein resides the power and authority of the Eternal Father, call it religion or no... at the name of Jesus every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that He is the Lord of lords and King of Kings, the Ancient of Days! (either now, willingly, or at some future date maybe sadly unwillingly); there is no other like Him. To Him, pure religion is doing good to people, helping the underprivileged, and giving to those who are without... that is the religion of the Son of God. Any other is only showboat man-engineered religiosity. But, the Name is important, because it is the one time in all of history that God begat a Son, and through that Son paved a way for all of us to also become Sons of God by adoption... This is the way Peter summed it up once: "Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved". Jesus is all about salvation... if you did not know you needed to be saved, then it is time to wake up and get with the program. Every one of us needs the savior. God is love. I hope this helps someone...

I don't, labels are what help us make careful distinctions. And in matters of truth in religion some religions will be closer to the truth than others. So it's helpful to define the differences and then align yourself with the religion that most closely aligns to the truth. You should never ever believe a religion because it makes you happy, you should only ever believe one if it's true.

I agree but I disagree. I am Wiccan and I am proud of the fact that I am but I do not like the stigma that goes with it. I respect other religions because that is a personal choice and I wont try to shove my religion down anyones throat. To each their own.

Won't work for Christians because they are admonished to "Put on Christ".
Won't work for me because I am defined by my beliefs.
We tend to categorize people. We look at motives and belief structure. Presidents win or lose campaigns by being properly afilliated. We can't remove the connection between the person and the religion because it will constantly be made clear in the decisions he or she makes and the causes they stand for.

People can attach themselve to whatever religion they want. The important thing is to have faith in God. If being a member of a religion is what does it for people that's great for them as long as they truly believe.

Way to go dangerous danny!! I couldn't have said it better myself. The church are the people so if someone asks what church are you from the proper answer would be "the same one you are from" True believers are part of the body of Christ with Christ being the head. Each member has a different function just like our body one be a hand another a baby toe, each one being just as important. Did you know if you cut off your baby toes you would fall over? We need to realize we are part of one body. We need to stop dividing ourselves

John 5:22-24
22Moreover, the Father judges no one, but has entrusted all judgment to the Son, 23that all may honor the Son just as they honor the Father. He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father, who sent him.
John 7:18
He who speaks on his own does so to gain honor for himself, but he who works for the honor of the one who sent him is a man of truth; there is nothing false about him.

In total agreement. I have my very own religion--or--relationship with God. I don't share it because I don't want other's opinions or beliefs shoved down my throat. Spirituality doesn't need a "club" or a title.
