WHICH PART OF THE COUNTRY ARE YOU FROM AND HOW ARE YOU FINDING THE FASTS?

Even if God wasn't real, why wouldn't you still want to believe in him. It gives you hope that there is someone that is watching over you and helping you and taking care of you. I mean what would be the meaning for life if there wasn't a God.

I mean EVERYTHING. From you tripping over a rug or something after saying a curse word, or from someone dying in your family.

So everytime i look online for help with issues in my life and how to deal with them logically and rationally i get excited when i find someone discussing a situation similar to mine and then...whats the solution? Oh yeh God thats right just make God feel good thats all you gotta do. how could i have been so stupid....Why is everyone too lazy to deal with their own inadequacies by saying that God is the answer. All i want is REAL answers for a change.

Many people on this board state they used to be Christian but converted to Atheism...or used to be Muslim but converted to Christian. Or used to be Christian and converted to Muslim, or Wicca, Pagan or Pagan to Muslim...How can you even understand a religion when you treat them like a booty call? How many swap religions when you swap partners? How many are so weak in thier faith that they go with what ever their "lover" is doing? Or is it an attention sort of thing...Oh Mommy I'm going to be an Atheist so you will pay attention to me.....

I just recently moved into my own apartment, and one of the perks is getting to have my own Isis altar to work with without making family members feel uncomfortable (or even if they didn't, I would in front of them).

I know Isis is loving and forgiving (oh, I know), and I'm not worried about "angering" her by using the wrong corresponcences, but I want to create the best altar I can - so what candle color/scents, objects, animals, materials, offerings, anything, hehe, would be most fit for an Isis altar?
Right now, I have lotus, myrrh, frankincense, and rose musk incense, a small piece of lapis lazuli, and.... I think that's it, hehe.

Would anyone be able to give me some ideas?

thanks in advance!

I want to fine out the name for the ceremony where the people travel to the temples and have their heads shaved and painted with sandalwood paste, i dont mean the ceremony when the baby or childs head is shaved before they reach 4,

Sorry, but being neither Christian nor Muslim, but rather believing in Peace, I was amazed by the Christian woman defending all the actions of the war by Bush including turture . It seems to me the "fanatical" fundamentalist Christians are not far behind strapping bombs to their bodies in order to whipe out the Muslisms. To think that any religion has the answer to it all, with so many people in the world believing so many different things is so sad to me. And to think that Jesus came down to earth to teach us anything other than to love one another is outrageous to me. And to think that God actually wrote the bible (come on, it was written by humans with a whole bunch of hearsay and story telling) and now we are going to have bible camps in which children are told to wage war(no matter how the lady likes to put it, war has a negative violent meaning)
Please, christians and non-christians, can anyone see what I am seeing. Does the bible not teach as well about turning the other chee

Are we afraid that what they teach is true but are unwilling to accept that we are not in control so we slam the door in their faces.
Sort of like bullies at school who have problems with themselves and decide to take it out on little Jonathan....I mean think about, it must take something pretty GOOD (faith) to give them the courage to turn up at your door when they know the world cup is on tv huh'...

If this sounds like a naive question, it probably is.

The reason I ask is because there is a guy I sort of know that I want to network with regarding a job. He is a Sikh (and I'd assume he's practicing seeing that he wears a turban, etc).

Ideally in these situations, which will be casual, I suggest we grab a beer after work together to discuss, but I really don't know anything about their religion, and it's policy towards drinking.

I don't want to come across as naive.

Any insight?

Christianity is what still defines quite a few people in the "Bible" belt, but they are quite a breed apart in their interpretation of religion. Can't help but admire the amazing fluency with which they use God in every sentence, their forefathers having been quite cool over holding slaves, in God's name. Not to mention their scruples over abortion, homosexuality, immigration and anything that doesn't come with missionary label. They give a new meaning to Yankee Doodle song, and have some "enlightened" views on protected sex. The Presidents they send really behave like Global Plantation owners. Wonder if Jesus Christ should have been born somewhere in Alabama instead of Bethlehem. Why, wouldn't we have been reading of him being "lynched" instead of "crucifixion".
