Take away everything and make everybody feel high
but if you know what life is worth,
you would look for yours on earth,
so now you see the light
you've gotta stand up for your rights

Why are people so suspicious of the faith. I understand there have been extremists abusing the religion as a means to justify horrendous acts, but this has happened forever. I mean the IRA were Catholic, I was raised a Catholic, but I don't get persecuted for their years of terror.

Intelligent answers only please

This teaches that Jesus (God's son) died for us so we can be 'forgiven'. Or to put it another way - If God is the father and the Son - God sacrificed himself (or sacrificed a part of himself - depending how you view the trinity) to himself to appease himself?

Is that logical or the actions of a merciful God? In Islam (and Judeism) we are rewarded or punished for our actions ('no man can bear one another's burdens) we can approach God with true repentance and ask him to forgive us - and can be forgiven because God is merciful.

Why do people lump Satan and Lucifer together as the same being?

Isaiah Chapter 14 and Ezekial chapter 28 give the impression that Lucifer tried to overthrow God and was then thrown DIRECTLY into Shoel and was doomed to fall down a bottomless pit.. Satan on the other hand is not given an origin story in the Jewish Scriptures. But even later in the Christian New Testament there is no clear verse that saying that Satan and Lucifer are the same being. There isn't even any mention of Lucifer!

It's clear from the book of Job that Satan the "Advisary" can do things (with permission) to mess you up, but there is no reason to think Satan is Lucifer, especially since Lucifer is falling in a bottomless pit. Why are they lumped together?

This is a question for an assignment at my Bible College. I am specifically looking for responses from people who identify themselves as either evangelical or pentacostal Christians, but I also welcome responses from non Christians. If a Christian could you please identify either evangelical or pentacostal on the post so I can compare responses. Thanks!

i'm going through a personal hell at the minute. i'm confused and basically messed up. i would love to take communion but i'm not worthy. i've done no wrong in my life. yes i've sinned but then again who has'nt?. i've broken most of the commandments except for commit murder, covet thy neighbours goods and his wife. mass says i can take christs flesh. but i am not worthy in any sense to recieve it. i need God him/herself to come and order me to take it. i can't do it any other way. does anybody else feel this way? i'm not pure i'm filthy. i can't take christs flesh God forgive me.

Why Christians dont agree with each other and set their own versions of christianity like protestant, catholic etc?

Why they all disagree, and all the bibles are edited by human beings?

Why are there so many groups, means more christians are not united?

Why people choose to believe the bible which has been edited by huma beings, changed by human..

Why are they never united like the Islam, in Islam, all the Quran are the same content. They are united.

(1) Some stars are so enormous in diameter that it is thought that they could not have existed for even a few million years, otherwise their initial larger mass would have been impossibly large. These massive stars radiate energy very rapidly --- some as much as 100,000 to 1 million times more rapidly than our own sun. On the hydrogen basis of stellar energy, they could not have contained enough hydrogen to radiate at such fast rates for long ages, because their initial mass would have had to be far too giganic.
(2) It has only been in recent years that scientists have discovered that comets are primarily composed of water, and that many small comets are continually striking the earth. Yet each strike adds more water to our planet. Scientific evidence indicates that, if the earth was billions of years old, our oceans would be filled several times over with water.

Doesnt this support the "theory" that the bible is right by telling us that the earth is only 6000 years old????

I'm wondering how atheists were treated in England during the year 1799 (or was there a time when being an atheist would be more difficult rather that 1799?). My hero moves to a small village in England, a very Christianly strict village. Would people actually try to kick the hero out of the village by force, which might later move to violence?? But wasn't England a place where one might chose their own religion--or not have a religion at all??
