Why are we always looking for more, why can't we just be happy at some point on our lives?. All my friends are always looking for more, more dreams, more things, bigger homes, challenges, more more...
is it ok to be happy with what we can acomplish at some point in our lives without feeling the pressure or feeling Mediocre?

Somewhere in the Bible, I've read something about....those who choose to pray in public so that they can be seen by others as Holy, vs those who just go about their praying behind closed doors with no need to be seen by others. (I know I probably didn't word this properly).

I realize Christianity started basically 2000 years ago.
When did the Catholic religion start?
When did the religion of Isam start?
When did the religion of Buddhism start?
And possibly the oldest when did the Jewish religion start?

What is the oldest form of religion? I'd think someone like the Indians worshiping nature basically.

Lets say you're shopping at the grocery store and see an average family of a mother, a father, and a young boy and girl. Would you silently pray in your head for the son (and only the son)? why or why not? Would you willing walk up to the parents and ask if you could pray for their son (and only the son)? why or why not?

Now lets say you're shopping in the same store and you see a family about the same. A mother, a father, a little girl and her young brother who is noticeably handicapped. Would you willingly walk up to the parents and ask if you could pray for their son? Would you silently pray for the boy in your head without approaching the family? Would you be more likely to pray for the boy in this situation than the other? and what about the daughter? why or why not? {{Be Honest}}

I know this is a lot of questions but it's something I come across a lot of in my life and I would like to know your opinion. thanks

In the war between heaven and earth, the devil has been competing. The devil is everywhere. Maybe all the unbelieveable stories in the bible was a product of the devil because he knew humans would grow increasingly more logical. Nowdays, unrealist biblical stories is the main reason people do not belive in Jesus and the bible. Could god be telling me think of my own ways to find him?

Details please. Did you actually research your religion and choose it or do you follow the religion of your parents?

and yet, they get upset when someone portrays Jesus in a bad light, and they expect everyone to realize why they're upset? isn't that two sides of the same coin?

Why do Christians focus on the end of the world so much? Why do they look forward to the suffering of so many people in the end times? I used to be a Christian and I still believe in God, but I believe that he comes to everyone in different ways. So why sould so many people have to go to hell just because they aren't Christian?

...just chunk it in the trash like the everything else. Is that sinful? Would it be more of a sin for believer or a non-believer to trash a Bible?

It's just a question folks...even though I don't put as much stake in it as a lot of people, my Bible's right here on my desk and not going anywhere...

I think %95 of the christian religon is complete bull$hit created by a bunch of weidos storytellers 2000 years who claimed to have "visions" and created fake miracles. A period where people where burned at the stake for being witches. Kings and Queens were though to be direct decendents of god. Not but a few hundred years ago a woman was sentenced to death for being a witch and the jury convicted her by simply saying "somebody had to done it" If People were that uneducated, gullable, ignorant, just a few hundred years ago, it makes perfect sense that people 2000 years ago would make up complete crazy stories. How does a sane person believe that people tried to build a ladder to heaven, and god got mad and destoryed the ladder and then everyone started speaking different languages. Every single story just seems like the bigglest load of bull$hit. Miracles died with the birth of the video camera, my god created brain gives me logic to know that miracles can only exist through storie

I asked a question before about "us christians" and yeah I shouldn't have put it like that. I never said I was perfect either. Being a christian doesn't mean you have to be perfect. I am far from perfect. I'm divorced, Had children out of wedlock, and I'll admit I love sex and can't commit to the whole waiting till I'm married thing. So now am I a bad christian because of that. Ok I'm going to stop now cause you probably all think I'm a freak already.

Being a religious catergory, I think it's safe to ask about Satanism. Is it a religion? Does Satan see himself as a god or want to be god? Do you pray to him? Have black masses? Are you open with your satanism to others? Will you go to hell because you worship Satan or because you have rejected God? If you go to hell, will Satan be nice to you or will he make you suffer forever? Are you evil? Do you try to do the wrong things all the time or desire others to suffer? Do you try to convert others?

My father is 75, and has very bad diabetes. He has been told by doctors that he cannot fast during Ramadan. His blood sugar is very difficult to control, even with his medication, so he has to eat a small meal every 3 or 4 hours during the day.

My father's wife is very angry about this. She says he absolutely must fast, and has threatened to fire his cook and his maid if they fix him food. (She does not live with him.)

My father is very upset and does not know what to do. My cousin, in an effort to help, asked an Imam to come and speak to my father at his last doctor's appointment, which was last week. The Imam listened carefully to the doctor, and then told my father it is not necessary for him to fast as it will make his health worse, and that he can simply feed a hungry person each day. My father is still unsure what to do. Could you please supply links to articles which discuss this? I want him to make an informed choice.

Thank you for your time.

but the original first written bible was translated into three different languages, from those three languages it was then translated into english. All of those translations were made by fallible human beings who could have changed and or added anything they wanted to. So in reality don't you really have faith in a translators written word?
