I realize Christianity started basically 2000 years ago.
When did the Catholic religion start?
When did the religion of Isam start?
When did the religion of Buddhism start?
And possibly the oldest when did the Jewish religion start?

What is the oldest form of religion? I'd think someone like the Indians worshiping nature basically.

"Catholic" literally means "universal". It WAS Christianity until it split up. The first break was in 1033 when the Roman and Greek Orthodox faiths parted ways. In the 16th Century, the Protestant Reformation (Lutheranism, Calvinism, the Reformed Church, etc.) forced the Roman Church to distinguish itself as "Catholic" in opposition to the breakaway sects. Other denominations continued to split off after this. A religious movement in the 19th Century produced Adventism, Jehovah's Witnesses, Christian Science, Latter Day Saints, etc. And the 20th Century gave us Pentecostals, Four Square and many more.

Going back the other way, Islam arose in 7th Century Arabia. Buddhism began in the 5th Century BCE. Hinduism began a thousand years or so before that.

Judaism claims to have connections with God dating back to creation. However, as Israelites, they couldn't well exist before the time of Jacob/Israel himself. The establishing event of the Hebrew religion was the Exodus, dated roughly around 1200 BCE, but even this is the stuff of mythology. Nothing approaching real history began before the time of the kings of Israel and Judah, after 1000 BCE. The monotheistic Jewish faith as we understand it has its roots in the time of the Babylonian exile, in the 6th Century BCE.

The earliest extensively documented religion is that of the Egyptians, dating from 3000 BCE, but there were surely others before it, as ritual objects from Sumer and Ebla indicate.

There is evidence that early humans, possibly even Neanderthals had a concept of an afterlife, and certainly of unseen forces controlling their luck with the hunt, their fertility, and later, the harvest. We don't have meaningful names for these religions but archeologists see 20,000 year old evidence for their existence.

Catholicism: 325 AD (Council of Nicea)

Islam: 610 AD (Muhammad's First Revelation)

Bhuddism: circa 563-483 BC (Lifetime of the Bhudda)

Judaeism: circa 1800 BC (Around Abrahams Lifetime)

I would say the first form of religion was more of an instinct than an actual religion. An instinct that gave the first humans knowledge of some divinity. I could be wrong though.
I think this started out monotheistic and eventually divided into belief in many gods as people came in more contact with each other and each other's view of God/gods.

The Catholic faith is 2,000 years old because it's the only Church that was founded by Jesus Himself. I'm not an expert on the other religions.

Every 'primitive' tribe I've ever read about has had some sort of religion (primitive in quotes since it seems a little derogatory, but that is not at all my intent).

My guess is that there has been religion ever since the first ape-man became aware of his own consciousness.
