I don't ask many questions here but when I do I always try to give the best answer points to whoever provided the best answer to the actual question that I have asked. I would certainly give an atheist the best answer points if they provided the most appropriate answer because the Bible says not to treat people with partiality and because it would be an opportunity to help erode some of the prejudices that people have against Christians as a group because of the actions of individuals who profess to be followers of Christ but who may or may not be truly in the faith.
James 2:1 My brothers, show no partiality as you hold the faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory.
Romans 13:7 Pay to all what is owed to them: taxes to whom taxes are owed, revenue to whom revenue is owed, respect to whom respect is owed, honor to whom honor is owed.

Why not? As long as the Atheist is presenting himself honestly to the best of what he truly believes in without insulting the intelligence of the people who could not go along with his theory. Oftentimes a person becomes believable when he present his ideas and belief in a very respectful way. The same condition goes to the believers in the religious and spiritual world.

If he gave a good answer, duh!
To be more specific, if I asked a question about atheism or atheists, and he made an effort to give a thoughtful, honest answer, then of course.
If I asked a question about a religious topic, and all that he said was some immature crack about religious people being stupid, then of course I wouldn't -- he didn't attempt to answer the question.

And why the heck would you not...if the person gave you the best answer.
Is that not what you wanted? The best answer? Why would you care if the person was an atheist or a hedgehog?

I have - I respect other points of view even if we disagree.
The person made a good point and had insight - but I don't agree with their life view or theology, and that's ok.
You seem to be out for a fight tonight - hopefully you can reach a point where you can be ok with agreeing to disagree.

If their answer was apropos to my question, yes. I have done that by the way. A gentleman by the name of "upallnite" is who I chose as the best answer for one of my rare questions. Another is "Spookshow Baby".

Yes.
I think I have done that. The person put allot of critical thinking into my question. That is why I leave out specific information so people will have the tools to find it on their own.

Yes... if the answer was precisely what I was looking for.
I rarely even pay attention to whatever spiritual or religious leanings people have... I'm only interested in what they have to say.
