I just recently moved into my own apartment, and one of the perks is getting to have my own Isis altar to work with without making family members feel uncomfortable (or even if they didn't, I would in front of them).

I know Isis is loving and forgiving (oh, I know), and I'm not worried about "angering" her by using the wrong corresponcences, but I want to create the best altar I can - so what candle color/scents, objects, animals, materials, offerings, anything, hehe, would be most fit for an Isis altar?
Right now, I have lotus, myrrh, frankincense, and rose musk incense, a small piece of lapis lazuli, and.... I think that's it, hehe.

Would anyone be able to give me some ideas?

thanks in advance!

Traditional offerings to Isis include music, dancing, incense, especially myrrh, flowers, honey, crescent-shaped cakes or rolls, fruit grown on trees, dark sweet wine, and libations of milk, wine, or rosewater.

Keep a cup of water on it as an offering at all times--this was important way back when and is still practiced in Kemetic reconstruction circles now.

As for Isis herself...she played almost every role possible a goddess could play at different times and in different cultures. I'd either pick a few aspects you like and use symbolism for those, or, like the cup of water, use other things that match up well with desert deities--lots of green for vegetation, symbols of common food offerings such as corn, etc.

If I recall from my Wiccan days, white candles are best for an alter. I don't know what animal is sacred to Isis, but find something that represents that (statue or feather or whatnot), and a small bowl offering of flowers is adviced as well.

Snakes... if you look at the old drawings of her, she wears a tiara with a snake on it.... back then, snakes were a symbol of wisdom and healing. The items you've listed so far look good too. Maybe you should make a small shelf-like altar, then it would appear to be just part of the decoration in the room?

Anything Egyptian would fit your theme. Fresh flowers are always nice on an altar. I follow a Celtic path, so I can't offer much help....except to check out The Witches' Voice web site. I'm sure you can find lots of info and advice there.

Honey, don't listen to the one disrespectful person who posted nasty things about your beliefs. Instead, ignore them. You can visit websites such as spellsofmagic.com and witchvox.com (or is it witchesvox.com?) with any questions you may have.

A statue of her. And fresh flowers. (I try to keep new ones each week or so.) Roses or lilies would be appropriate. Maybe feathers?

you douchebag. gods don't exist - even isis. this is clearly your way of "rebelling" against the current standard of monotheistic religion in society, but you've done a poor job. it's an obvious ploy for attention and for your futile attempt at finding individuality. but you've left out something very important: rational thinking.

please play in traffic.
