After ranting about child abuse in church-affiliated state custody facilities, FindLaw commentator Marci Hamilton states:

...churches' bids for complete autonomy, and even for liability waivers, should be denied, and they should be held liable for civil damages, and face criminal penalties, when they were aware of child abuse and did not address it. The Massachusetts' House vote this week to require clergy to report child abuse, which was already required of therapists, teachers, and social workers, is a step in the right direction.

The fact that the churches are accepting public money only adds additional government leverage. For instance, public funds should be automatically cut off as soon as credible complaints are brought. And accessible, fast-moving administrative procedures run by the government, not the church, should be made available whenever it is alleged that children are being harmed.

You Athiest's claim that Christians are pushing the Bible down your throats, Well..Think about this.
You take prayer out of School and we are supposed to accept it.
You take the Ten Commandments from public Buildings and we are supposed to accept it.
You want to take "Under God" from the pledge of allegiance and we are supposed to accept it
You want to take "In God we trust" off all currency and we are supposed to accept it.
You want to ban the Bible with H.R. 4200 (hate crimes legislation) and classify it hate literature and we are supposed to accept it.
You arrest Christians on the Streets of Philadeplhia of practicing our right of free speech (Oct 10th 2004) and we are supposed to accept it (for a video of that see. www.repentamerica.org)
You force our Children to attend secular public schools when we cannot afford to home school or send them to private schools and we are supposed to accept it.
So.. who's pushing what down whose throats? I can go on, I have more.

For once I would like for everyone to stop watching the news and open their minds to research and reading. You r all educated pple,,,,read the Quran, Bible, Torah (all three books) before you decide you hate either. They are all messages from God...and then show me one religion that does NOT have extremists...we dont need to divide this world into different religions, we need to divide this world between the believers and the terrorists (who are not only Muslims but anyone who kills an innocent is considered a terrorist...whether he/she is a rapist, kidnapper...so on).

Does anyone have the guts to study all instead of believing what CNN shows???

The Bible says in Genesis that God gave us the stars and stuff "for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years. . . " ( don't answer w/ i don't know if the Bible says that b/c I'm telling you it does). So what is that if not horoscopes? I'm a Christian and am just wondering.
It says separately seasons, days and years, so those can't be the signs? What are the signs then?

Think about it, first of all, God would be declaring unto the world that women are just as good (okay, better) than the men in this world. Then, you have them become a leader, and to prove just how much God loves us, he offers up a woman to the cross in the end for your sins. Doesn't it make you feel much more loved to know a woman had to die for your sins than a man? A good woman is a terrible thing to waste.

mind of someone who believes and has faith in Christ. What do you have to gain from it? The same question can be flipped to me, I am aware, and what do I have to gain from it. Well, for me, I gain the knowledge that I have done as God commanded me to do and seek to find favor in the Lords eyes. I do it for God to help to contribute to his Kingdom and lead those, his creation, that he loves back to him. Muslims, well, I see you with a similar answer to mine, but we know our beliefs differ, so please answer as well. Christians, please feel free to comment.
