I don't think he hates Islam, but he is a very strict man who firmly believes in his faith. As for the ex-nazi, he was forcefully drafted into Hitler's army and quickly ran away as soon as he could. He did not wish to fight for the nazi's and I think a lot people here don't want to accept that fact. He isn't John Paul 2, who was a more flexible man. Benedict is the kind of person who won't bend on any of the rules of his faith.

Honestly, I'm not trying to be witty, but I think Pope Benedict looks evil. He looks demonic. My opinion is only based on his physical appearance though. I don't really pay attention to what the Pope actually believes/ thinks/ supports/ condemns.
