Wherefore he did not himself suffer death, but Simon, a certain man of Cyrene, being compelled, bore the cross in his stead; so that this latter being transfigured by him, that he might be thought to be Jesus, was crucified, through ignorance and error, while Jesus himself received the form of Simon, and, standing by, laughed at them. For since he was an incorporeal power, and the Nous (mind) of the unborn father, he transfigured himself as he pleased, and thus ascended to him who had sent him, deriding them, inasmuch as he could not be laid hold of, and was invisible to all. Those, then, who know these things have been freed from the principalities who formed the world; so that it is not incumbent on us to confess him who was crucified, but him who came in the form of a man, and was thought to be crucified, and was called Jesus, and was sent by the Father.
(The Church Father Iranaeus, Against Heresies, Chapter XXIV.-Doctrines of Saturninus and Basilides)
Notice how Iranaeus says “through ignorance and error” the Jews misapprehended, and crucified the wrong person.

“She is an inevitable evil, an eternal mischief, an attractive calamity, a domestic risk, a charming and decorated misfortune”
(John Chrysostom (354?-407)
“She opens the door to Satanic temptations: lead man to the forbidden tree, breaks the Law of God, and corrupts man”
(Tertullian d. 220)
"Woman is a temple built over a sewer, the gateway to the devil. Woman, you are the devil's doorway. You led astray one whom the devil would not dare attack directly. It was your fault that the Son of God had to die; you should always go in mourning and rags."
(Tertullain 160?-220?)
"Adam was deceived by Eve, not Eve by Adam... it is right that he whom that woman induced to sin should assume the role of guide lest he fall again through feminine instability."
Ambrose (339-97)
It is good for a man not to touch a woman.
Augustine (354-430) (http://www.ccel.org/ccel/augustine/confess.txt)
We were ensnared by the wisdom of the serpent: we are set free by the foolishness of God. Moreover, just as the former was called wisdom, but was in reality the folly of those who despised God, so the latter is called foolishness, but is true wisdom in those who overcome the devil. We used our immortality so badly as to incur the penalty of death: Christ used His mortality so well as to restore us to life. The disease was brought in through a woman's corrupted soul: the remedy came through a woman's virgin body.
Augustine (354-430) (http://www.ccel.org/ccel/augustine/doctrine.txt)
"Woman is slow in understanding and her unstable and naive mind renders her by way of natural weakness to the necessity of a strong hand in her husband. Her 'use' is two fold; [carnal] sex and motherhood."
Pope Gregory I (540-604)
"[Woman] was made only to assist with procreation."
Thomas Aquinas (1225-74)
"Woman was made for only one reason, to serve and obey man."
John Knox (1513-72)
"Wife: Be content to be insignificant. What loss would it be to God or man had you never been born."
John Wesley (1703-91)
"A wife should submit herself to the leadership of her husband. Leadership in the church should always be male."
Southern Baptist Convention (2000)

Women have been persecuted by the Church throughout history; doesn’t this prove that Christianity dishonors women?

Here in australia there are a few 'respectable' groups that practice this belief. I even went to some christians when I was a young christian so as to get delivered from any demons that may be in me. They rolled the tummy and prayed to God for my deliverance. Its quite weird. even as a christian I realized I should stay away from them. But at most times it is believed by the christians in the mainstream churches. Has any other christians heard of this practice or know of christians that do this.

Is a Muslim life worth less than a non-muslims life because the media in the west is always saying islam is full of extremism and terror, 7/7, 9/11. When their are hundreds of thousands of Muslims killed each day by non-muslims in their own countries. The media never shows the good and true side of islam and tries too make it harder for Muslims in Britain. Do you believe the Iraq war was right? when no weapons of destruction were found and so many innocent civillians have been killed. Do you think it is right people who may be totally innocent from any crimes are transported and tortured in guantanamo bay?

My theory is, if God was real, then of coarse he or it is first. Creating the first existance of space, and earth. Then, the Dinosaurs, then evolution, that then becomes Adam and Eve, the very first humans that walk this earth. And then,....now I don't get this. Why does the time line go backwards in B.C. down to year zero, and then supposedly Jesus dies making it turn into the years of A.D. forward.
And just thinking of the time line this way where God is real and the stories were true then that would actually make us where everyone is related to everyone. Since it is just a 1 to 6 prop-ability that a child would have the effect of certain diseases caused from inter-breading.

Call me crazy for asking but I've just been curious lately. I'm kinda Atheist by the way so don't use that against me. With the whole God thing.

I don't agree with the theory of evolution. It cannot explain a lot, like how random processes created the incredibly complex human brain, or how a lizard developed feathers when the evolutionary process causes the loss of information and not the addition of it.
Should it then be promoted as fact when it is a hypothesis only, and does the school system place too much emphasis on it in place of traditionalist and religious views such as Intelligent Design and Creationism?
