God "put the plague of leprosy" into the houses of the Canaanites. 14:34

God explains the use of scapegoats. It goes like this: Get two goats. Kill one. Wipe, smear, and sprinkle the blood around seven times. Then take the other goat, give it the sins of all the people, and send it off into the wilderness. 16:6-28

Sprinkle the blood and burn the fat for a sweet savour unto the Lord. 17:6

If you upset God, he'll cause the land to vomit you out. 18:25

"Whosoever shall commit any of these abominations ... shall be cut off from among their people." 18:29, 19:8

Don't eat sacrifices on the third day or God will cut you off from among your people. 19:6-8

Kill anyone who "gives his seed" to Molech. If you refuse, God will cut you and your family off. 20:2-5

"For every one that curseth his father or his mother shall surely be put to death." Couldn't we try spanking first? 20:9

Both parties in adultery shall be executed. 20:10

If a man has sex with his father's wife, kill them both. 20:11

If a man "lies" with his daughter-in-law, then both must be killed. 20:12

If a man has sex with another man, kill them both. 20:13

If you "lie" with your wife and your mother-in-law (now that sounds fun!), then all three of you must be burned to death. 20:14

If a man or woman "lie with a beast" both the person and the poor animal are to be killed. 20:15-16

People with "familiar spirits" (witches, fortune tellers, etc.) are to be stoned to death. 20:27

A priest's daughter who "plays the whore" is to be burned to death. 21:9

God gives us more instructions on killing and burning animals. I guess the first nine chapters of Leviticus wasn't enough. He says we must do this because he really likes the smell -- it is "a sweet savour unto the Lord." 23:12-14, 18

Don't do any work on the day of atonement or God will destroy you. 23:29-30

It's just that Christians don't follow their holy books but Muslims do. Christians don't kill teenagers for disobeying, kill people who don't keep the Sabbath, keep slaves, or supress women. The Bible tells them to do all these things. The Muslims follow their book and you can see the results in 9/11. Thank God that Christians don't follow a lot of what the Bible says. Thoughts?

P.S. - Yes, I know the Bible says nice things too, but doesn't that contradict all the gruesome and evil things it says?

Some Christians say freewill is Gods way of testing us to see if we will do as he says.

Could I just flip the script on them and say freewill is Gods way of testing us to see if we will follow the evidence He created in nature?

"A man was walking on a road and he became very thiresty. He came across a well, got down into it,drank of it's water and then came out.Meanwhile, he saw a dog panting and licking mud because of excessive thirst. The man said to himself"this dog is suffering from the same state of thirst as i did.'So he went down the well and filled his shoe with water and held it in his mouth and watered the dog.Allah thanked him for that deed."The people asked,"O Allah's Messenger! Is there a reward for us in serving the animals?"He said,"Yes, there is a reward for serving any living being".

The Prophet said"If any muslim plants any plant and a human being or an animal eats of it, he will be rewarded as if he had given that much in charity".

Earlier muslims said: "The prophet came out towards us, while carrying his granddaughter 'Umamah' over his shoulder. He prayed, and when he wanted to bow, he put her down and when he stood up he lifter her up".

We love you our great prophet..Always do:)

Deuteronomy 14:21 forbids the Israelites from eating the flesh of anything they found already dead, but it allows them to sell it as food to non-Israelites. Why the double standard?

Deuteronomy 14:21
21Ye shall not eat [of] any thing that dieth of itself: thou shalt give it unto the stranger that [is] in thy gates, that he may eat it; or thou mayest sell it unto an alien: for thou [art] an holy people unto the LORD thy God. Thou shalt not seethe a kid in his mother's milk. (KJV)

Proof #13 - Take a look at slavery
Here are ten passages from the Bible that clearly demonstrate God's position on slavery:
Genesis chapter 17, verse 12:
And he that is eight days old shall be circumcised among you, every man child in your generations, he that is born in the house, or bought with money of any stranger, which is not of thy seed. He that is born in thy house, and he that is bought with thy money, must needs be circumcised.
In this passage God understands that people buy other people and, quite obviously, is comfortable with the concept. God wants slaves circumcised in the same way as non-slaves.
Exodus chapter 12 verse 43:
The Lord said to Moses and Aaron, "These are the regulations for the Passover: No foreigner is to eat of it. Any slave you have bought may eat of it after you have circumcised him, but a temporary resident and a hired worker may not eat of it.
God again shows that he is completely comfortable with the concept of slavery and singles.

Let's make an effort to spread peace around the world and do more good deeds. Start small, by saying Hi to your neighbours, pickup trash on the pavement, be nice to others, control your anger and think before making ridiculous actions, help others who needs help, etc, etc. Be the best ummah on the face of the earth. It's never too late. Let's start now.

Peace

Say: Shall We inform you of the greatest losers in (their) deeds? (These are) they whose labor is lost in this world's life and they think that they are well versed in skill of the work of hands. These are they who disbelieve in the communications of their Lord and His meeting, so their deeds become null, and therefore We will not set up a balance for them on the day of resurrection.

Muslims fast in order to obey the order of Allah, their Creator. Being All-Wise and All-Knowing, He alone knows what ails humans and what benefits them. As Muslims we believe that God Who created us has provided for our spiritual welfare even as He has provided for our physical needs. He did so by sending prophets and messengers who guided us unto the straight path, and by adhering to it, humans can realize their full humanity and attain ultimate felicity in this world and the next.

Among the many benefits of fasting are the following:

1. It deepens our spiritual awareness by inculcating God-consciousness.

2. It helps our bodies to recuperate and renew; it is comparable to the state of hibernation that all creatures in nature go through.

3. It helps us train in patience.

4. It creates empathy for the poor who are starving.

5. The month of Ramadan gives us a month-long training course to enable us to break free of our bad habits and develop new positive habits.

1.) Whoever does any work on the Sabbath day must be put to death.
- Exodus 31:15

2.) Anyone who blasphemes the name of the LORD must be put to death. The entire assembly must stone him.
- Leviticus 24:16

3.) If a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They must be put to death.
- Leviticus 20:13

4.) Women should remain silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission, as the Law says. If they want to inquire about something, they should ask their own husbands at home; for it is disgraceful for a woman to speak in the church.
- 1 Corinthians 14

5.) Bid slaves to be submissive to their masters and to give satisfaction in every respect; they are not to be refractory, nor to pilfer, but to show entire and true fidelity.
- Titus 2:9

A christian friend of mine (16 years as friends) made the comment that it would seem the most pleasant christians dont really believe the bible all that much. Which is a bit confusing for him. He doesnt know I am an atheist yet. (he thinks I am just 'backslidden' christian)
The more they study and believe the more unpleasant they become. Thats a theory I have, what do you reckon.
christians feel free to answer also.

I am not a Christian though I have conversations about Christianity regularly with "believers" of all types. When ever there arises an occasion when I get onto these Christians for not giving me a reasonable answer to a question they say things like, "You are blind," "If only you had the eyes to see," or "I am going to pray to ask god to open your eyes to the truth." This use to bother me until I was reading John and found out what Jesus said about those who are blind:

Jhn 9:41 Jesus said unto them, If ye were blind, ye should have no sin: but now ye say, We see; therefore your sin remaineth.

What do you guys, Christian and non-Christian, think of this verse?

Fasting is not new to Islam; it is, indeed, as old as Adam(a.s) who was the first creature and the first Muslim to submit to one Allah. No one knows precisely when fasting began among Adam's progenies but it is the practice of all the Prophets of Allah and their followers. Qur'an mentions that Musa(a.s) fasted for 40 days (see 2:51) (this is what the Jews termed "Jewish Passover") and the Prophet(s.a.w) told us that Dawud(a.s) used to fast for half of the year (this involves fasting on every alternate day). 'Issa (a.s) (or Jesus) was also reported to have fasted for 40 days (this is what the christians termed "the Lent", usually observed before Easter festival). Since these Prophets were Muslims, it can be seen that by asking Muslims to fast, Allah intends to draw their attention to the practice and tradition of those pious predecessors who attained piety (in His sight) through fasting.

"O ye who believe, fasting is prescribed for you as it was prescribed for people before you ..."
