Did you know the US Law said: "thou shalt not drink or possess any alcoholic liquor"?
If you read the Bible through from beginning to end instead of taking sentences at random you will get a much more enlightened view of God and his desire for mankind.

If the Bible was the word of God, which I totally don't believe,
then there could be no true unconditional love.
Who wants to try to serve a god like that? Everyone would be stoned for every minor discretion. I think that's ridiculous philosophy.

if people were really supposed to be put to death for shabbat, or blaspheming, or pretty much anything, do you really think that nation would survive? think about it. people break shabbat all the time, even rabbis don't always get it perfect. in actuality, according to jewish law given to us by G-d at mt sinai, it was extremely difficult and rare to put somebody to death. laws of witnesses were so very strict, that almost nobody could get the death penalty even if they TRIED. did you also know that according to jewish law, if a person is found guilty by every single member of the jury, they are automatically declared innocent and cleared of the crime? jewish law is very merciful.

I also know that it says:
Joh 3:16 God loved the people of this world so much that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who has faith in him will have eternal life and never really die.
&
Rom 13:9 For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
Rom 13:10 Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.
It is tiring to answer those that just do not want to read the text as they should. May I suggest you to read the Book "Read the Bible for all it's worth". It will teach you how to read it in context.
You may also take an Art degree in English Lit, they will taught you the same, but you may have to spend 3 to 4 yrs. So why not just pick up a book, and start to learn to read them to learn some art of reading literatures.
I wish to answer you. But a topic it self will take up easily 1000 words. Why not you send me a personal e-mail, if you are sincere, I can teach you.
Cheers

The word slave is only mentioned twice in the Bible.
This is how God values his law, if you break it, how can you expect to inherit the kingdom of God, Christ said to repent, be born again, and to "go, and sin no more."
1Jo 2:3 And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
1Jo 2:4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
1Jo 3:4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.
1Jo 3:6 Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.
God has always been this way, he is just, but he is loving. No matter what you have done, if you can repent contritely and goto Jesus, you can be forgiven and become sinless - so that you may enter heaven.
Rev 14:12 says those that are saved obey the commandments of God.
God bless!!

Excellent examples of Biblical atrocities, and there's even a modern connection: the Born-Again Christian Right is the closest thing to Hitler's Nazi Party that we've seen since 1945!

Do you know what Jesus said about all this "stuff"?
Moses wrote that because of the hardness of our hearts.
But the funny thing here is that you are judging he whom you believe not on. How silly a man you have become.
The truth is right in front of you, yet you chose not to see it because you don't want to lose what you love most.
"You cannot put new wine with old wine in an old sheep skin. For if you do, it burst and all of it will be lost."

Jeremiah 31:31 speaks of God's New (Post Restoration) Covenant. Isaiah 53 speaks prophetically of the restorer of all the breaches. The Levitical Law was set in place to purge evil from God's covenant people. Satan kept sending demon-possessed people so that God's seed would mingle with them.
Everyone of those acts punishable by death under the Old Covenant still bring death in the form of demons that bring incurable diseases. Aids is is brought by a spirit as a direct violation of Leviticus 20:13. The blasphemer dies in sin and inherits everlasting damnation. If you check the covenants given to Abraham's seed, many are everlasting. Specific laws given to the Jewish branch of Abraham's seed are unto their generations. God foresaw backsliding so had God given them everlasting covenants, he would have lost His most sacred altars to Satan. So God set up His Melchezidec everlasting priesthood --Psalm 110 and put the person of Psalm 2 as the selector of those for that High Spiritual office. The earliest Christians were all Jews and still under the Levitical law. The man--the spiritual head as is Christ over the Melchezidec covenant of Jeremiah 31:31. Under that new covenant--gentiles would be allowed. Therefore there would be no more: Jew or Greek--in other words, the selection to holy offices would not be according to the rules of the Levitical priests. How else could you have gentiles and woman receiving the gifts of the Holy Spirit? A person's selection is not based on Hebrew lineage or gender as under the Old Covenant. All Abraham's seed were to endure 400 years of slavery for allowing God's sacred things to end up in gentile hands. As a result, watered down things seeped into His teachings. The strictness and the rigid traditions which preserved His teachings from floods and contamination gave way to “GRACE –a period whereby one could repent and seek pardon--no pagan could enter God's holy place under the Levitical era. Now homosexuals enter God's sanctuary and have to await the hour of judgment. In ancient times as they tried to enter they were killed. Yes--the Bible reflects what the Torah said would happen and it came to pass.

All that is true but in most cases you are missing the point such as no one can stone a Man unless he is blamless before the Lord Jesus was quoting that you know. Keep reading you may just find some thing to beleve in. :)
