I am not really happy with life and I thought I would try a religion. I was raised without any teaching of religion though so don't know where to start. What religion are you? What are the primary teachings and are you happy with your life? There are so many I don't know which to turn to first.

I just noticed that everytime I ask a question, these people are always saying things like "God bless" or God will punish you" Or "Let the Lord show you the way". Why do they feel they can bring religion into a question that has nothing to do with it? I have nothing against religious people, and I am really sorry if I offended anyone. I just think religion is something that should be kept to yourself. Who agrees?

His 12 best friends were a bunch of sailors. He hung out with the prostitutes. He preferred wine over water. Last but not least he never once said anything about homosexuals!!

Since I read post after post on here about how Christianity is under attack by gays, I’d just like to know who are the homosexuals attacking you? Have they shown up at your Church and tried to convert you? Somehow, I doubt it.

And before one the idiots even posts something about pedophile priests in the Catholic Church. There is a big difference in what consenting adults do (what gay people do) and raping a child (what pedophiles do). Homosexuality and pedophilia is NOT the same thing.

So stay on the point or don’t post.

And if they haven't interfered with your religious life/beliefs, why are so many religious leaders convinced of a threat or is that just a smokescreen?

Why do you christians believe that you are the only moral people. Why do you believe that you are the only ones who have a right to make statements about religion?
It seems to me that the ability to have open and honest discourse, poke fun or pick on people who disagree with you is part of our freedoms, and that the process leads to progress, understanding and change.
Is it because christians are so insular in their believes that they can no longer have a rational argument that might undermine the foundation of their belief?

I'm just wondering because a lot of ppl are resolving to that way if they do decide to die! Any ideas? Won't you drown to death OR be eaten when you are half-alive by god knows what is down there :P when you reach the ocean? It seems like a painful, slow way to die.

Ok, here's a serious question for everyone. What would you do if your religion changed some of it's rules? Hypothetically, the new "rules" are based solely on the Bible, but they seriously conflict with your current lifstyle. Would you find another religion that would let you keep doing what you've always done? Or, would you see the changes as beneficial and be willing to accept them? For example, no more sex before marriage, smoking, pagan holidays...etc. What would you do? Again, this question is for everyone. I'm not out to pick any fights...I just want clear, reasonable answers. Thanks for your comments.

Have you thought about Hawking and Russell on this regard?

"The initial configuration of the universe may have been chosen by God, or it may itself have been determined by the laws of science. In either case, it would seem that everything in the universe would then be determined by evolution according to the laws of science, so it is difficult to see how we can be masters of our fate." -- Stephen Hawking

"The first dogma which I came to disbelieve was that of free will. It seemed to me that all notions of matter were determined by the laws of dynamics and could not therefore be influenced by human wills." -- Bertrand Russell

I would love to be able to sit up front. I would support my man by nodding, clapping and saying amen to all his statments. I would look pretty and wear lots of make up and get my hair done so it piled up real high and fluffy. I would even sing karoke gospel songs that would have everyone admiring my good looks and my voice. I would even cry real tears and ruin my mascara if I got the job.

I can do it. Now all I need is to find me a single hetrosexual preacher man, looking for a wife!
