There are as many reasons as there are fake Christians.
That's not what's important, though.
What's important is that they're in the right place at the right time to hear the gospel.
You may be the only bible they read, so be sure that you are demonstrating the love of Christ and sharing the scriptures with them.
I once met a man who was the pastor of a church for 20 years before he received Jesus Christ as his savior and was anointed with the Holy Spirit.
Don't give up praying for these people.
The assistant pastor at my last church was one of these, and I was asked to leave the church by him because I continually found error in his teaching and held his feet to the bright burning fire of the Bible.
It seems like God has revealed to you who these people are, perhaps this is YOUR ministry field.
Get on your knees and ask God how he wants you to reach these people who may taste judgment unless you stand in the gap and intercede for them.
May God go before you and prepare your way.

people are raised to be whatever religion they are in. By the time they wise up, its too much trouble to back out.
at least its better than Muslims, under shariah, they can kill you legally if you change your mind and convert to another religion.

It's the new fad. However, this presidential administration is making the christian religion to look like they are nothing but a bunch of hypocritical fools!! So much for family values.

They believe they will receive all the benefits from God for being a Christian but they are not actually living for God. it doesn't work like that, and those sort of people give true Christians a bad name.

Partly because that is the religion that their parents raised them in . But they don't nessaraly believe in it.and some of them become hypocites and use the church to gain power and prestege as an elder of the church.

Because there parents were christian's so they think they have to be christian's too. So they fake their way into the christian world to please their parents and the christian lifestyle. But not all christians are fake's. Just few of them are.

They (fakers/opportunist) probably get honest folk's trust that way and proceed to use them for personal gain. I think people probably let their guard down in church because they feel it's a safe place and thus opportunists move in.
