What was the original religion of the prophet Mohammed or his parents?

Sorry if I spelled his name wrong.

Jesus started out Jewish. I was wondering what religion the prophet's parents had before he recieved the word of Allah.
I'm respectfully curious. Thanks for the answers so far, and have a blessed Ramadan

When Prophet Mohammed was born, there were 3 main groups in Arabia, Christians, Jews and polytheists. These three groups believed in Allah and also held Abraham in high esteem. Polytheist would call upon Allah, only when there is very severe problems and rest of the time they worshiped Idols, believing that these Idols will intercede for them with Allah. They even made idols of Prophet Abraham.

Prophet Mohammed was born in a Kuraish tribe, which is polytheist and are the custodians of Kaaba, which muslims believe to be build by Prophet Abraham for the sole worship of Allah. Even though Prophet Mohammed was born in a polytheist family, he always disliked idol worshiped and used to go for meditating along.

There is some people recently who argue that Allah is not the God of Abraham, and is only a pagan idol. This is refuted by Arabic speaking Christians and Jews,who still call God Allah. See a discussion about this in a Catholic forum

They were the followers of Abraham (Ibrahim).

Since they were little they were taught that idol-worshipping is wrong and there's no God but Allah. however, since these people were in minority, they kept their faith to themselves.

But Prophet Muhammed spread his message when Allah commanded him to.
