Proof #13 - Take a look at slavery
Here are ten passages from the Bible that clearly demonstrate God's position on slavery:
Genesis chapter 17, verse 12:
And he that is eight days old shall be circumcised among you, every man child in your generations, he that is born in the house, or bought with money of any stranger, which is not of thy seed. He that is born in thy house, and he that is bought with thy money, must needs be circumcised.
In this passage God understands that people buy other people and, quite obviously, is comfortable with the concept. God wants slaves circumcised in the same way as non-slaves.
Exodus chapter 12 verse 43:
The Lord said to Moses and Aaron, "These are the regulations for the Passover: No foreigner is to eat of it. Any slave you have bought may eat of it after you have circumcised him, but a temporary resident and a hired worker may not eat of it.
God again shows that he is completely comfortable with the concept of slavery and singles.

Personally I love your question. I always get a kick out of them. Christians tend to pick and choose what parts of the bible they will follow and what parts they won't. According to scripture god was OK with slavery(as long as it wasn't his people that is). God is also OK with killing witches, homosexuals, idolaters, and usually anyone that doesn't agree with him. He however is not OK with shellfish, pork, and working on Sundays. Go figure!

There are several more too. The Bible was used to defend slavery during the civil war. Obviously God doesn't believe that all men are equal. It seems to me like the person writing the Bible put his views into "God's" mouth. It's all made up.

1.) Bid slaves to be submissive to their masters and to give satisfaction in every respect; they are not to be refractory, nor to pilfer, but to show entire and true fidelity.
- Titus 2:9

2.) Your male and female slaves are to come from the nations around you; from them you may buy slaves. You may also buy some of the temporary residents living among you and members of their clans born in your country, and they will become your property. You can will them to your children as inherited property and can make them slaves for life.
- Leviticus 25:44

ONLY if you take the Bible for good. Is it so hard to understand that we do NOT take the bible as a reliable source? If all you want is to believe, fine. If you want to share your belief with your fellow Christians, fine. I mean, do it in Church, not here. But the bible will do the trick. But if you want to persuade any outsider, you cannot use your bible, since we do not take it seriously. It's like a 'check-mate' in a basketball game. It's meaningless, irrelevant, and most definitely NOT a piece of evidence for me...

Yeah I could have told you that one. LOL There are lots of verses in the bible that shows their "god" that points out how he feels about slaves. The bible is full of a lot of BS!

No this does not show GODS position on slavery in any way.
If God was for slavery Why did HE lead His people out of it in Egypt(EXODUS). what you HAVE shown is Gods Position on Circumcision.

With all due respect, you are mistaken. God's position on slavery, according to the Bible, is that slavery is a state of mind, not a set of circumstances. Someone in physical slavery can posses more freedom than a person of royalty. Also that we are not to get frustrated with our position in life, whether it be a Hebrew slave or a fry girl at McDonald's. We are to inspire others by our obedience and loving spirits.

G-d does not like slavery, he just does not outlaw it. it was too important to economy at the time that slavery exist. if he liked slavery so much, then why does the bible give so many laws of ways to get OUT of slavery? ie, servants must be set free on the 7th year. as well, there is also a commandment that if a slave flees his master and comes to you, then you are NOT to return him. you must allow him to live among you as a freeman. if G-d was so in love with slavery and approving of it, he would demand the slave be returned.

Exodus 21:26-27 "And if a man smite the eye of his servant, or the eye of his maid, that it perish; he shall let him go free for his eye's sake. And if he smite out his manservant's tooth, or his maidservant's tooth; he shall let him go free for his tooth's sake."

Deuteronomy 23:15-16: "Thou shalt not deliver unto his master the servant which is escaped from his master unto thee: He shall dwell with thee, even among you, in that place which he shall choose in one of thy gates, where it liketh him best: thou shalt not oppress him."
