the bible sais he was in so much distress that ''his sweat was like drops of blood falling to the ground"
And being in anguish, he prayed more earnestly, and his sweat was like drops of blood falling to the ground. [Luke 22:39-49]

My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death," he said to them. "Stay here and keep watch."

if he was in anguish and his sweat was like drops of blood doesn't this mean that he was afraid? but he had already raised the dead and he knew he would raise also...

He was afraid to die. If he wasn't then why did he look upwards to god and ask father, why have you forsaken me? He was afraid to die because he was mortal and not actually the son of god or divine in any way. If I was the son of god losing my mortal human life wouldn't bother me in any way. I'm a Deity and therefore immortal.

How do you know that he was?

If you read a book called the course in miracles you will understand that dieing was the reason that Jesus came in the first place. The idea that he was afraid of death is a misunderstanding.

Also I don't think that anyone will burn in hell for any reason.

I agree that some of the bible is irrelevant, but not all of it. I can't help but notice that you asked us not to quote irrelevant bible passages, then started to quote the bible. This seems a bit conflicted to me.

He wasn't afraid of death, He was afraid of sinning, which would cause his sacrifice to be of no value. and would have nullified his hope of a resurrection

Heb 5:7 In the days of his flesh [Christ] offered up supplications and also petitions to the One who was able to save him out of death, with strong outcries and tears, and he was favorably heard for his godly fear. 8 Although he was a Son, he learned obedience from the things he suffered; 9 and after he had been made perfect he became responsible for everlasting salvation to all those obeying him,

That was why he prayed to Jehovah for strength, and why His God sent an angel to strenghten him.

If he failed then Satan would have been right and not the slanderer he is.

I believe that He was scared to die, because even though He is the son of God, He was still human. All humans are scared of death. Its natural - also, there is the possibility that He did not fully understand or know God's plan for Him.
Think about it - wouldnt you be scared if your dad said to you that you had to die cuz other people did something wrong? Wouldnt you want to get out of it?!

I doubt if anyone wants to think of the suffering they will have to go through to die. But I think Jesus actually knew how bad his punishment and Crucifixion would be since he knew things ahead of time.

He didn't like pain any more than the next person, and wanted it to stop, but he wasn't afraid of death. if he was afraid of death, he could have denied what he said and did numerous times and been let go

Im an athiest and I'll tell you he wasn't afraid.

If he had lived, the whole christianity thing would have fallen apart and spared us of this religion.

He knew that if he died he would kickstart what would become the most powerful religion over, of cos it was worth this sacrifice.

The human part of him experienced the same fear we would have at the thought of crucifixion. He sweated blood.
