to beget means to be the father of...

God is the father of all mankind since he is our creator. He is the source of our physical life.

Jesus is the spirit son of god who was already "son" in heaven before his physical presence on earth.

As Jesus rose from the dead, he opened a new pathway for us to follow, so that we would not just be physical creatures born/created in a physical way, but we would be re-born in a spiritual way, and share many priveleges and blessings that jesus has as well. We then would become spirit sons of god like him.

The verse you quote can also be prophetic about the rebirth offered by Jesus.

First it is a Psalm by David, not necessary about David.

Second, if it is about David it is also prophetic about Jesus.

Only Begotten (which isn't mentioned in Ps 2) denotes the special position Jesus has over all other sons of Jehovah.

Adam is a son of God, The angels are sons of God, Christians are adopted as sons of God.

Jesus is the only creature directly and solely created by God. (His Firstborn) Col 1:15 & Rev 3:14,

Then Gen 1:26, Col 1:16, Prov 8:30 Jehovah allowed Jesus to help him create everything else.

I think it is a bold assumption that this is speaking about David. I disagree. I think the whole Psalm is written prophetically of Jesus. Can you support from the text that it is speaking of David?

But to borrow from C. S. Lewis: "The Son of God became the Son of Man so that the sons of man may become the sons of God." We are to be reborn the sons of God, adopted by the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. That could in a sense be like being begotten by God, since we are reborn.

But it's not the same sense in which Jesus was begotten, since he took all the attributes of God from eternity.

Yes, that is what is written throughout the scriptures. It is affirmed repeatedly.

John 3:16-17, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved."

Mark 1:1, "The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God;"

It's a song entirely about Jesus, not about David.

David relates to the Son of God because he also is hated unjustly.

Ahhhhh, the bible was written by people, we are All sons and daughters of God, he created us in his image, we've just aloud ourselves to get away from him because our ego's get in the way.
Love, Forgive, do onto others as you wish them doing onto you, stuff like that, and you will find your way back to God.

This is not a reference to David, but to Christ who would one day reign on the throne of David(still future).
