MARRIAGE BY FORCE !!

[Deut. 25:5]
If brothers dwell together, and one of them dies and has no son, the wife of the dead shall not be married outside of the family to a stranger; her husband's brother shall go into her, and take her as his wife.

[Deut. 25:7]
And if the man does not wish to take his brother's wife then his brother's wife shall go up to the gate of the elders, and say, "My husband's brother refuses to perpetuate his brother's name in Israel.. Then the elders of his city shall call him.

And if he persists.. Then his brother's wife shall go up to him in the presence of the elders, and pull his sandal off his foot, and spit in his face; and shall answer and say: So it shall be done to the man who does not build up his brother's house. And the name of his house shall be called in Israel THE HOUSE OF HIM THAT HAD HIS SANDAL PULLED OFF.

What do you think heaven will be like?? Is there really an afterlife? Will we ever see those we love again? When we get there, how will we appear? Will we still love all of the same people that we did before? Why or why not?

If an Atheist is faced with death, would they die willingly or will they ber for their lives. Does life really matter to an Atheist. If not, why don't they kill themselves and everyone else since they think we are all going down the same road anyway? Where do they go after they die? Do they float around in the cosmos? Do they believe in reincarnation? Do they feel emotional when their loved ones die? Why did they become Atheist in the first place? Do Atheist enjoy not having hope after death and no hope for humanity? Would Atheist Become Christians if they had proof that Christianity was the truth? Would an Atheist convert into any religon with proof? Do Atheist believe in the Big Bang Theory, String Theory or evolution? If an Atheist found out that God was real after they die, what would they do and how will they feel? Do Atheist believe that anything matters? How do Atheist feel during the day? Hopeless, Miserable, Depressed, Angry, Sad, Happy? Do most Atheist have low-self esteem

Can you explain this to me? Why it is that all of a suddenly we have Christians trying to tell (demand?) us atheists that atheism is a religion...then at the same time *some of them turn around and say that "Christianity isn't a religion!" What are *some trying to pull?

*I said SOME, no generalizing.

I do believe in God, but I am not held down to the book like many of you are. Can you explain to me how for instance : an unknown tribe in ....South Africa...who has never had the chance to learn of Jesus, be sent to hell for not accepting Jesus as their saviour? Great people, just never been taught anything of Jesus. That's not fair, they would never have had the chance. I think that would be unjust, and I think you get in heaven by his grace, not by your acceptance of his death on the cross.

Many people react negatively to the fact that there is no one who can save us except Jesus. Yet this is not something the church decided on its own; it is the specific teaching of Jesus Himself. (John 14 v 6). God designated Jesus to be the Saviour of the world. No other religious teacher came to earth as God's only Son; no other religious teacher died for our sin and was raised from the dead. The only way to gain a relationship with God is through Jesus Christ.

(two can play your game!)

what does this mean in the bible?
"When the Lord your God brings you into the land you are entering to possess and drives out before you may nations...then you must destroy them totally. Make no treaty with them and show them no mercy." Deuteronomy 7:1-2, NIV. 1
"...do not leave alive anything that breaths. Completely destroy them...as the Lord your God has commanded you..." Deuteronomy 20:16, NIV.

Religious intolerance in the Hebrew Scriptures (Old Testament)

*Instruction to murder persons of other faiths: Any person who performs religious rituals to other than Jehovah was to be executed.

Exodus 22:20 "He that sacrificeth unto any god, save unto the LORD only, he shall be utterly destroyed."

*A call to God to destroy persons of other faiths:

Psalms 79:6: "Pour out thy wrath upon the heathen that have not known thee, and upon the kingdoms that have not called upon thy name."

I found this verse in the Bible:

Passage Matthew 24:35:

32 -35"Take a lesson from the fig tree. From the moment you notice its buds form, the merest hint of green, you know summer's just around the corner. So it is with you: When you see all these things, you'll know he's at the door. Don't take this lightly. I'm not just saying this for some future generation, but for all of you. This age continues until all these things take place. SKY AND EARTH WILL WEAR OUTL MY WORDS WON'T WEAR OUT.

I understand that God doesn't lie so I'm trying to find out what it really means, but in John 3:16:

Passage John 3:16:
16"For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have ETERNAL LIFE.

Does anyone know exactly what that means? God never contradicts His own word so don't give me some stupid answer, "God is lying," or anything of the sort.

You go to a large Catholic university, and there are a large number of Mulims students there as well. As you may know, most Muslims are celebrating Ramadan now and are not allowed to eat until sun-down.

In one of your classes, your professor asks that you (and other students in his classes) not eat in front of your Muslim peers. He also encourages you to possibly fast as well.

Would you be offended?
Would you be happy that he embraced a different religion?
Is he being too PC?
Would you speak up and say something?
Would you not eat in class?

How would YOU react?

(psssst---this didn't happen to me. This was brought on a similar site and the reactions of others amazed me)

I mean spiritually. I'm reading a study of 5 contemporary possessions and exorcisms but they're all based on a Christian's point of view. So I'm curious what the other religions think about it.

And yes, Atheists: I know. There's no such thing. Go ahead and say it and get your 2 points!! :)
