Matt 24:35 is what is called a hyperbole, an expression so far out there that it is not to be taken literally.
The bible at several location state that the earth is going to remain forever (Eccl 1:4)
Jesus was emphasizing how permanent and trustworthy his words are.
John 3:16 the world is symbolic of mankind in general. and those people who accept Jesus will have eternal life.

The Hell that is right now is not the final Hell or Hades. the Lake of Fire is the ending result and is the final resting place for Satan, demons, and everyone who has rejected Jesus Christ.
There will be a New Heaven and a New Earth. The new Heaven will come down and settle on the New Earth. Bascially after Armageddon and the complete and utter destruction of the world. God will make everything whole and new again. The New Earth will NOT have a sea, the New Earth it will be a lot bigger than the current earth. The earth will no longer be on a axis, meaning that the four seasons we have will no longer exist. Spring/summer is what was in the Garden of Eden and it will be like that. The New Jerusalem will be the capital of the new Earth.
The New Earth will be like the Garden of Eden and what it was originally intended to be. BUT IT WILL BE SO MUCH BETTER!!!! There will be no more night or no more sun, because God and Jesus will be the shining light! Evil will be desecrated, no more pain, suffering, and struggles with the flesh and Satan.
God does not lie, He is a pure, holy, rigtheous spirit that has no fault within Him. He does not change His mind nor does He change His love for us.

Yes, you get eternal life but there will be a new heaven and a new earth.
2 Peter 3:10, "But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up."
2 Peter 3:13, "Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness."

Heaven and earth shall pass away,....
This is either an assertion, which will be true at the end of time; not as to the substance of the heavens and earth, which will always remain, but as to the qualities of them, which will be altered: they will be renewed and refined, but not destroyed; the bad qualities, or evil circumstances, which attend them through the sin of man, will be removed and pass away, but they themselves will continue in being.
Or is a comparative expression, and the sense is, that the heavens and the earth, and the ordinances thereof, than which nothing can be more firm and strong, being fixed and supported by God himself, shall sooner pass away, than anything asserted and predicted by Christ shall. See 1 Peter 1: 24-25

A brief explanation:
After the Rapture & the Tribulation, Jesus will come back to Earth. He will have a millenial rule (1000 yrs) here on THIS earth.
Thereafter, the old heaven & this earth will pass away and a new earth & heaven will be created (if that's the correct term) for Jesus' eternal reign.
Check out this website about the Rapture & Tribulation, as well as events thereafter:

Even when the current heaven and current earth pass away, God will remain, and those who are with Him not opposing Him will remain with Him.
You just needed to keep reading is all.
Revelation 21:1
And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
So those who believe in Jesus will dwell with Him in the new heaven and new earth that is yet to be created.

As we know them presently heaven and earth are temporary. What is eternal is Jesus's word. A home in the spiritual heaven (not the heaven (sky) we see) will last forever as our soul will.
Techniquely speaking; even an eternal home in hell, implies something (our soul) last for eternity; but the separation from God is considered the 'second death'.

Many dictators have tried to wipe out Christianity but have failed .It is the Holy Spirit that guides the Church and He will never fail.Theese days its the Liberals who are trying to harm the Word by putting a sophisticated shine on it .The Devil (the Evil spirit ) is lot more intelligent than you and me.But that's why Jesus left us the Holy Spirit.
