MARRIAGE BY FORCE !!

[Deut. 25:5]
If brothers dwell together, and one of them dies and has no son, the wife of the dead shall not be married outside of the family to a stranger; her husband's brother shall go into her, and take her as his wife.

[Deut. 25:7]
And if the man does not wish to take his brother's wife then his brother's wife shall go up to the gate of the elders, and say, "My husband's brother refuses to perpetuate his brother's name in Israel.. Then the elders of his city shall call him.

And if he persists.. Then his brother's wife shall go up to him in the presence of the elders, and pull his sandal off his foot, and spit in his face; and shall answer and say: So it shall be done to the man who does not build up his brother's house. And the name of his house shall be called in Israel THE HOUSE OF HIM THAT HAD HIS SANDAL PULLED OFF.

Nope. Christians pretend not to know about the verses they don't like. That's why they are all hypocrits - pciking and choosing from the long list of God's rules.

I think all of this is in the Old Testament, When Jesus Christ came, a new covenant was made all together, it would be a sin to take your brother or sister, and it is stated in the Bible, and it is incest. The blood line went all the way up to Jesus Christ, now we are all new in Christ, and we need to follow Gods laws in the New Testament, it was even taught that circumcision was no longer needed as with other practices, and alot of Jewish people fail to believe the new covenant, which now they have no sacrifice to atone for thier sins, because they won't accept Jesus as the mesiah, so they are stuck in all this war, but Jesus will return, and all that believed in him will be raised, and the Jewish people will then know him from what I understand.

In a tribal patriarchical society land and wealth are transfered from women to men through marriage. from men to women through death. In order for the tribe & family to retain the assets of the dead male with no male heir the widow needs to marry his sibling. If the sibling refuses to marry her it is a communal loss of assets and the widow will have great difficulty findong a new husband because of the law regarding marring a widow.

THis was a law for the times in which it was written but does not apply today.

This is required for Jews only in ancient times. If a man dies, his wife can marry the brother of the deceased. If he doesn't want to marry her, she goes up to the leaders of the community and tells them. It would be a disgrace so the brother is disgraced..

No christians don't. That was under the mosaic law when worship of God was just being taught. It was necessary back then because if the woman was a widow, it wasn't likely she'd find a new mate. Because women were very dependent back then (they probably couldn't just go into accounting and support themselves), a new marriage ensured that she wouldn't be left unsupported and breadless.

First of all this was the Jewish law. It was to assure the linage of a man being raised by his family and not given over to someone of a different linage. There were a lot of things tied up in this such as inheritance and property. Christians care for their families in other ways. And, the laws of inheritance have changed since that time.

not to my knowledge. There was a passing on of property connected with this Jewish law which does not apply today. Read Acts 10 and 15 and it will tell you what laws the gentiles are to obey out of the Old Testiment

If you know any real Christians at all you should know that they don't follow this outdated custom.

This was a Jewish custom followed in order to keep family inheritances and names from passing into the wrong hands. It is no longer applicable. Not even Jewish people follow it now.

If you'll notice in the Old Testament, men had more than one wife at times. In the New Testament, which is what our direction is for this time, men only have one wife.

No. We live under a new covenant not the old law which was there for good reason in the old Testament days.
