Faith C: I do not live my life for Jesus or Buddha, both were great men, but they are both dead. I live my life for humanity.

whynotaskdon: How is dedicating oneself to humanity selfish? Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't that waht Jesus did?

Axel: By your world he means our interpretation of the physical world, and to better that, since it is a reflection of the self. By effecting our outlook on the physical we can improve ourself. This is outlined in Right Views.

sounds beautiful, but not really realistic.

How are you going to give back to the world when you are old and tired.

I am giving to the world now and in the process am learning about it.

oh, and Faith C: She never said she is living for Buddha, she is living for life itself, stop trying to convert her! This goes for you too LARRY S!!!

Hi Mirage,

I really like this quote, and I really feel it is an excellent goal in life, but I think you misunderstand it.

"Your work is to discover YOUR world and then with all your heart give yourself to it"
- Buddha -

"YOUR" world - not "the" world.

YOURS.

"and then with all your heart, give YOURSELF to YOUR own world."

Well, thx to you, I appreciate Buddha a bit more. I really like this quote of his.

With all my heart, I wish to give myself to my own world (inner-source). And my world is not "the world".

If you can strive to live your life by those wise words, then of course it is a good life goal. But don't do it pretentiously without conviction, confidence or enthusiasm.

Sounds like a fantastic way to live. Too bad most people don't live that way.

Fearless! Most people don't spend much time trying to figure out the world around them, much less embrace it.
