Christianity is a way of believing, not a religion! So why do people just think all Christian's are the same, believe exactly the same, and worship the same? There are a few churches out there that believe in Christ, which is where the idea of Christianity came from, but those "christian believers" say they're not Christian. So what's the problem?

I think all the Muslims that have the luxury of being Muslim in the Western world are doing a lot of lying up here and in real life, and most of all, to themselves. How many of you would pack up right now for Saudi or Iran? What rights would you have over there? As a female? From what I witnessed, not too many more than a goat. Hey, how about Pakistan? Why do you all put up with this and know full well your "rights" are not sanctioned by your religion, but where you LIVE. It's that simple. It's easy to get up here and in real life in the Western world and holler Islam is fair to women. You have yet to prove your case to those of us who have been there.

a) Its all a bunch of fictional stories; told by men; written by men, selected by men, and edited by men. Its no more truthful than any other work of mythology.

b) Its accounts of history are fairly accurate, and maybe there's a bit o' truth into some of the religious aspects...but I doubt it. Its mostly accounts of people mixing what they've seen with their culture's religion. Thus, an earthquake isn't an earthquake anymore - its God's wrath.

c) I think much of it is true, and the gaps were filled in with legend. Much of history (and "fact") is written this way. Genesis may be wrong, but that doesn't mean creation didn't happen. Moses didn't live 900 years, but that doesn't mean he wasn't a prophet.

d) Its clearly the word of God, but we may have messed it up a bit w/ translation and selection. Nothing with man's fingerprints on it can be perfect, but I'm sure at one time it was.

e) It is purely the word of God. God's word has not or cannot be tampered with.

I recently posted a question regarding comments made by the Iraqi leader of al-Qaida that disturbed me. One response inparticular was made by a Muslim young lady. The response kinda disturbed me. Basically, she said that the comments made by the al-Qaida leader (calling for scientists to join the Jihad and use nuclear/biological weapons) shouldn't cause me concern. Instead she suggested that I should be happy that Islam was coming to embrace me.

I'm a pagan... I believe that everyone worships the SAME god... we all just view that god in different ways.

As a Muslim do you seriously want this to occur (the use of nuclear and biological weapons) to spread your faith?

If it's true that there are only two possibilities, that also means that there is some singular point on the good-bad continuum out there... in which on one side you go to hell & eternal suffering and the other side you go to heaven & eternal glory.

One point, infinitely small so you can't land on top of it.

That would mean that just ONE tiny good act or ONE insignficant bad act could mean the difference between heaven or hell, if you were on the edge.

Imagine going to heaven & St. Peter says "oooh.... you just missed the cut. If only you didn't think about looking down Patty Jones' shirt in the 5th grade, you would have made it. Sorry, but you roast in hell for eternity. It all came down to that."


That doesn't sound fair, just, or even realistic to me.
